Celery burns heart disease, also known as heart rot, mainly harms heart leaves. At the initial stage of the disease, the tender tissue of the heart leaf growth point changed from green to brown, and then expanded to the heart leaf scorched, and then the celery root system and some stems and leaves died. The disease rarely occurs at the early stage of growth and usually occurs when there are 11 or 12 true leaves.

Burning heart disease with celery

First, the cause of the disease: celery burning heart disease, physiological diseases, caused by calcium deficiency. Lack of calcium and boron in soil and excessive salt concentration make it difficult to absorb calcium; under dry condition, excessive amount of nitrogen fertilizer makes it difficult for celery root to absorb boron and lead to insufficient calcium absorption, which can cause celery heart burn. In case of humid environment, high temperature and humidity, long-term continuous rain, excessive soil moisture, heart leaves infected by miscellaneous bacteria, will also rot.

Second, suitable for susceptible environment:

Continuous cropping land for many years, low-lying stagnant water, poor drainage; excessive application of nitrogen and potassium fertilizer, too young growth; high salt concentration in saline-alkali soil or soil, or high temperature, low temperature, drought, can cause celery to block the absorption of boron and calcium, resulting in heart burn.

3. Prevention and control methods:

(1) adopt soil testing formula to fertilize, adjust the content of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, boron, calcium and other elements in the soil; when the disease occurs, 0.3% Mel 0.5% calcium nitrate solution can be sprayed.

(2) select non-saline-alkali fields with high dryness and cultivate them with deep ditches and high borders without flooding; re-apply farm manure to improve the soil; scientifically use nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and trace elements; cool down at high temperature; keep warm at low temperature. When turning the ground, sprinkle appropriate amount of dry lime; nursery nutritious soil should use aseptic soil and sun for more than three weeks before use; reasonable close planting, timely removal of diseased leaves and plants, and take out of the field to burn, disease hole application or quicklime.

(3) Prevention and treatment: when using celery 5mur8 leaves, spray the leaf surface with calcium superphosphate 300 times liquid, or calcium chloride 300 times solution, or 0.1% calcium nitrate 400 times solution, once every 15 days, spray 2 Mel 3 times. The heart and leaf rot of celery caused by damp environment should be sprayed with appropriate amount of fungicide during waterlogging and moisture drainage.
