In the production of volvariella volvacea, it is common to see a small piece of straw mushroom wilting and dying. There are several main reasons:

Straw mushroom harvest

1. Poor ventilation: straw mushroom high temperature and aerobic, mushroom farmers in order to increase the greenhouse temperature, prolong the covering time, resulting in too much carbon dioxide in the greenhouse, straw mushroom died of hypoxia. But the ventilation is too large, the moisture is easy to lose, and it is not conducive to the growth of volvariella volvacea. In order to resolve this contradiction, at about 10:00 every morning for half an hour after sowing, the ventilation time was gradually extended to 2 hours a day with the increase of mycelium and the emergence of a large number of "needle mushrooms".

2. Sudden change of temperature: straw mushroom is a constant temperature fruiting type of mushroom. The optimum temperature for mycelium growth was 30 ℃-39 ℃, lower than 15 ℃ or higher than 42 ℃, and stopped growing. When the growth temperature of fruiting body was 28 ℃-33 ℃, the buds of mushroom wilted and died when the temperature was below 20 ℃ or above 45 ℃. Therefore, when the temperature is low, take double-layer film and other measures to keep warm; in midsummer, spray water and set up a shed to shade and cool down to reduce the temperature difference of mushroom room as much as possible.

3. Humidity is not suitable: water affects the growth of volvariella volvacea. Due to the lack of water, the mycelium grew slowly, the fruiting body dried up and died; too much water, poor ventilation of the mushroom bed, resulting in a large number of rotten mushrooms, dead mushrooms. Therefore, to master the appropriate humidity, the optimum water content of the culture material is 70%; during the mycelium growth period, the air relative humidity is 80%; in the fruiting body growth stage, the air relative humidity is 90%.

4. Uncomfortable water temperature: volvariella volvacea not only needs a lot of water, but also has strict requirements on water temperature. If spraying water less than 23 ℃ or more than 40 ℃, the young mushroom will wilt on the second day. Therefore, water spraying should be carried out in the morning and evening, and the water temperature should be about 30 ℃.

5. Acid environment: straw mushroom prefers alkaline environment, when the culture material is acidic (pH value less than 6.5), it is difficult to grow and is easy to be infected by miscellaneous bacteria. Therefore, the amount of lime added when the ingredients should reach 5%, and 1% lime water or 4% plant ash water should be sprayed after each harvest-tide mushroom to increase the pH value.

6. Careless picking: when picking, do not touch the young mushrooms that are growing, such as straw mushrooms are dense and clump, wait until most of the straw mushrooms are ripe, pick together. Correct picking method: press and hold the growth part of straw mushroom on one hand and twist the mature straw mushroom on the other to reduce the damage to young mushrooms.

7. Spread of diseases and insect pests: improper cultivation and management will lead to the outbreak of diseases and insect pests. When the nitrogen content of the culture material is too high, a large number of ghost umbrellas appear, and straw mushrooms compete for nutrients, resulting in the death of straw mushrooms, so when blending, it is necessary to control the nitrogen content. When using corncob, wheat straw and rice straw as main materials, 5% wheat bran or 4% fermented rotten livestock and poultry manure should be added. When using the cotton husk rich in nitrogen as the main material, the nitrogen source can not be added, but attention should be paid to control the harm of mites. After the occurrence of mites, the mycelium in the culture medium was quickly eaten up, and a large number of young mushrooms died on the bed. When mixing materials, spraying dichlorvos or trichlorfon 800 times liquid, the control effect is good. When mold appears on the material surface, spread quicklime powder in the polluted area, strengthen ventilation and reduce humidity, restrain the spread of miscellaneous bacteria, and ensure the growth of straw mushroom.
