Strawberry results continuously for a long time, resulting in excessive nutrition consumption and varying degrees of tiredness. if the management is not strengthened in time, strawberry plants will senescence prematurely, affect the late fruit, and the yield will be reduced.

Premature senescence of strawberry

The main problems in the later stage of strawberry growth:

With the increase of air temperature, the growth of strawberries is affected by high temperature. if the old leaves, diseased leaves, diseased fruits and residual fruit stalks are not removed in time, it is easy to consume too much nutrition and affect the permeability and light transmittance of mature strawberries. If mature strawberries are not harvested in time and there are too many flowers and fruits, it is easy to cause premature senility; the number of bees in the greenhouse is greatly reduced, and it is easy to increase abnormal strawberries if you do not pay attention to ventilation or auxiliary pollination. Aphids, red spiders, thrips, powdery mildew, gray mold and other diseases are easy to make strawberries poor commercial.

How to prevent premature senescence of strawberries:

1. Strengthen plant management. Timely removal of old leaves, diseased leaves, diseased fruits, residual fruit stalks, excess lateral buds and stolons, pay attention to the operation when the soil surface is dry in sunny days, to prevent strawberry basal stem from being susceptible to disease; on the same day, it can not be watered to prevent depression and closure and enhance air permeability and light transmittance; timely harvest of mature strawberries to avoid excessive nutrient consumption; timely removal of advanced secondary flowers, buds, small fruits and deformed fruits.

2. Strengthen the temperature management. Adjust the tuyere at any time according to the weather and adjust the temperature in the shed reasonably. The daytime temperature is 20 ℃-28 ℃, do not have a high temperature of 35 ℃ or more. The temperature at night is lower than 5 ℃. The ground temperature during the day is 15 ℃-20 ℃. The weather is changeable in April, pay attention to the "late spring cold"; in May, the weather becomes warm, it is necessary to strengthen indoor cooling measures, pay attention to increase ventilation, and reduce the temperature at night as much as possible.

3. Strengthen the management of fertilizer and water. With the increase of light intensity and temperature, the demand for water and nutrients of strawberry plants increases, and too much nutrition is consumed because of the continuous fruit in the early stage of strawberry, so it is necessary to strengthen fertilizer and water management.

4. In principle, watering and fertilization should be carried out at intervals of 5-10 days. When watering, avoid flooding, small water should be watered frequently to keep the soil moist. Due to the increase of soil temperature, the root activity of strawberry is exuberant, and the ability of absorbing soil nutrients is enhanced, so fertilization should be combined with foliar topdressing according to the actual situation, such as good soil fertility, mainly foliar fertilizer. The combination of extra-root topdressing and watering, each time the amount of extra-root topdressing should not be more, according to the actual situation, the previous dosage can be reduced by 30% and 50%. According to the actual situation, foliar fertilizer can use potassium dihydrogen phosphate, amino acid foliar fertilizer, high-energy calcium foliar fertilizer or other suitable micro-fertilizer.

5. Strengthen the pollination measures of strawberry. The number of honeybees in the greenhouse has been greatly reduced, which can increase indoor ventilation measures, enhance the ability of self-pollination of strawberries, or adopt artificial auxiliary pollination.

6. strengthen the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests. Aphids, red spiders, thrips, powdery mildew, gray mold and other diseases and insect pests occur seriously. Strawberry plants should be carefully observed for early detection and timely prevention and control. If it is not serious, chemical spray can be used for prevention and control; in more serious cases, smoke control should be released, or combined with chemical spray. The smoke agent should be used in the evening, and the temperature in the closed greenhouse should not be higher than 23 ℃ to prevent drug damage.
