It takes only 18 to 20 days for tomato seedlings to grow from cuttings to large seedlings with 7 leaves, and the seedling area needed to cultivate 1 mu of tomato seedlings (about 3000 plants) is only 4 square meters, which is 10 times less than that of conventional nursery beds. In addition, it can accelerate the breeding of improved varieties and promote the popularization of improved varieties. The water insertion technology of tomato is introduced as follows:

Tomato seedlings raised by water insertion

1. Selection and arrangement of cuttings: lateral branches are selected from tomato plants with strong growth and variety characteristics, cut into 8~10cm segments, the incision should be smooth and smooth, and the leaves in the lower part of 3~4cm are cut off and placed indoors. After the incision is naturally dried and healed, it can be used as water cuttings. The tomato cuttings were inserted into the rooting solution, and then cultured with nutrient solution after rooting, and then a strong seedling could be cultivated.

2. Preparation of rooting liquid: put 1 gram of indoleacetic acid powder into a small cup, add a small amount of alcohol, after it is dissolved, pour it into a container containing 5 kilograms of water, that is, 200ppm indole acetic acid original solution. When inserting tomato cuttings with water, take 10 milliliters of raw liquid, pour it into a container containing 10 kilograms of water, and stir well, that is, the rooting liquid for water insertion.

3. Preparation of nutrient solution: 10.2 grams of potassium nitrate, 4.9 grams of calcium nitrate, 2.3 grams of potassium dihydrogen phosphate and 4.9 grams of magnesium sulfate were dissolved in a small amount of water, then poured into a container containing 10 kilograms of water and stirred well. When preparing, the magnesium sulfate solution should be poured into the container at last to avoid precipitation.

4. Water container: a 500ml jar can be used in the water container, and the bottom of the bottle can be filled with broken stones with a diameter of 1-2cm, which can be used to fix the cuttings, with 10 to 12 pieces per bottle. The water container should be washed and disinfected with boiling water.

5. Management of water-inserted seedlings: according to local conditions, tomato seedlings can be raised in glass greenhouse, plastic greenhouse and curved small arch shed. After the tomato cuttings were inserted into the jar, the jar was placed on the layered shelf of the seedling room. The indoor temperature was kept at 22: 28 ℃ during the day and 15: 20 ℃ at night. Add water once every 1-2 days to replenish the evaporated water in the container. Due to the high temperature and humidity in the seedling room, it is easy to cause the disease of cuttings, so 500-fold solution of Dysen zinc should be sprayed every 2-3 days to prevent early blight. Generally cultured for 5-7 days, after the cuttings are rooted, the rooting liquid in the container can be poured out and replaced with nutrient solution to provide sufficient nutrients. The tomato cuttings after rooting were cultured in nutrient solution for 2 weeks and then grew into strong tomato seedlings with well-developed root system and suitable for colonization.
