Purple cabbage

Seedling sowing: the seedling age of purple cabbage is about 7080 days in spring and 40 days in summer. Seedling raising methods: seedling bed seedling, seedling tray seedling, nutrition bowl seedling. Sufficient organic fertilizer should be applied to raise seedlings and divide seedlings in seedling bed. The nursery bed should be carefully prepared and the border surface should be smooth. In seedling tray and nutrition bowl, the mixture of vermiculite, perlite and peat soil can be used as soilless seedling raising method. The nursery bed selects the plots with loose and fertile soil, high topography, convenient drainage and irrigation, and non-cruciferous crops planted in the previous crop.

Sowing time: it should be decided according to the variety characteristics and harvest time of purple cabbage, generally using dry seed sowing, the seed amount per mu is 50,100g. Fully water the nutritive soil in the seedling bed or seedling tray before sowing. After the water infiltrates, the dry seeds are mixed with the same amount of fine sand, spread evenly, cover the soil 1.5 cm after sowing, and then cover with film. After sowing, we should pay attention to heat preservation, promote the early development of strong seedlings, keep the temperature at 25 ℃ in the daytime and 15 ℃ at night, and keep the temperature up to 20 ℃ in the daytime and 10 ℃ at night to prevent the Hypocotyl from elongating. Because of low temperature and low evaporation in spring, seedling bed generally does not need to be watered after pouring sufficient bottom water before sowing, so as not to reduce the ground temperature, but it is necessary to prolong the light time and improve the light conditions.

Soil preparation and planting: purple cabbage has a strong ability to absorb fertilizer, and it is a fertilizer-loving crop, so it is necessary to turn the land deeply and apply sufficient fertilizer. 5000 kg of organic fertilizer, 25kg of phosphate fertilizer, 30kg of urea and 20kg of potash fertilizer are applied per mu. After being evenly ploughed and raked with the soil, the soil is prepared to form a border with a width of 1m to 1.5m. The content of calcium in purple cabbage is second only to nitrogen, such as lack of calcium will produce dry heartburn, so it is necessary to properly supplement calcium fertilizer.

When the seedling has 6-8 true leaves, it should be planted when the soil temperature of the cultivated field is not lower than 8 ℃. Because purple cabbage is easy to pass through the vernalization stage at low temperature, resulting in immature bolting. Although purple cabbage has moderate winterness, it will also immature bolting under long and low temperature. Choose light and warm days for planting in the morning in spring. When planting, the seedlings should carry soil to reduce root damage. Sitting water and planting in spring, the amount of water should not be too large, in order to increase the ground temperature, slow down the seedlings as soon as possible and enhance the resistance of seedlings.
