First aid measures for false dead piglets with respiratory arrest but weak heartbeat

In pig production, there is often a phenomenon that newborn piglets have stopped breathing, but the umbilical cord and heart beat slightly, showing a state of false death. The reasons for the fake death of piglets: overweight sows, piglets in the birth canal for too long, mucous membrane amniotic fluid blocking the trachea. So how to save the fake dead piglets?

Piglets

1. Wipe off the mucous membrane of mouth and nose, lift and pat the piglet's buttocks (put it in 40-41 ℃ warm water for 1-3 minutes in winter and expose the head for 3 minutes) and spray the pig body with cold water in summer.

2. apply alcohol on the nose of fake dead piglets to stimulate and resurrect them.

3. Carry out artificial respiration, put the fake dead piglets on the mat grass or cloth, and hold the forelimbs with hands. Stretch and bend back and forth, and gently press the ribs and chest with the palms, or blow air into the nostrils of the piglets to restore breathing.

4. The palm of one hand is facing the top of the piglet's head, and the food and thumb are stuck in the teeth. The other three fingers pressed against the cheek, opened their mouths, and grabbed the piglets. Then put the piglet mouth, facing the operator's mouth, two inches away, the operator's lips into a cylinder, into the piglet mouth to breathe more than ten times, the pig can resume breathing, slowly move. If not, blow hard for more than ten times, then put the piglets sideways on the straw; massage the piglets' chest, and the piglets can be saved.

5. The method of holding breath: press the mouth, nose and anus of the piglet with your hand, and hold the umbilical cord of the piglet with your finger to hold your breath. When you find that the umbilical cord has a sense of fluctuation, release your hand immediately, which can bring the piglet back to life.

6. Piglets who died because of a cold were quickly put into 35 ℃ of water, their heads exposed, and swung constantly, and then gradually raised the water temperature to 38 ℃. After a warm bath, dry the body to promote their breathing.

7. In case of individual piglets whose amniotic membrane has not been ruptured, the keeper should immediately tear the amniotic membrane with his hands and release amniotic fluid to prevent the piglets from suffocating to death.
