During the rearing period of meat ducks, the temperature in the first week should be above 30 ℃, and then decreased day by day with the increase of age. At the age of 15 days, the temperature dropped to about 20 ℃ and kept out of the pen.

Meat ducklings must be fed less and added frequently. However, after 3 weeks of age, when they enter the fattening period, they should eat and drink freely.
The taste of duck is underdeveloped, so we must pay attention to the hygiene of feed and bedding to prevent it from being mixed with moldy and deteriorated feed and foreign bodies. Meat ducks like to eat pellet feed, not too fine, sticky feed. Ducks have an innate ability to distinguish colors and like to eat yellow feed. Ducks like to drink in the blue sink, like cold water, do not want to drink water higher than body temperature.
The metabolism of meat duck is fast, half of the food is discharged after passing through the digestive tract for about 4-5 hours, and the water takes only half an hour. Because of fast digestion, the excretion rate is high, and there are more organic matter and nitrogenous substances left in duck feces. Duck manure is decomposed to produce a large amount of ammonia and other harmful gases. Therefore, duck droppings must be removed frequently.
Ducks like dry environment, humid environment is not conducive to heat preservation in winter and heat dissipation in summer, and abdominal feathers often rot and fall off due to damp and fecal water pollution. Therefore, the duck house bedding material should be dry and hygienic.
Meat ducks eat and drink more, and are used to eating and drinking at the same time. In order to avoid soiling drinking water and wasting feed, the distance between material basin and water basin is more than 1m, and the distance between medium duck stage and big duck stage should be more than 5m. In drinking water area, the drainage is good and away from bedding. In order to prevent meat ducks frolicking, a net cover should be added to the basin.
Meat ducks are timid and frightened, noise, color, strangers and so on will make meat ducks nervous, excited, screaming, running around, resulting in loss of food intake, weight loss, and in serious cases, crush injury and death. Therefore, it is necessary to keep quiet around the duck house.
Ducks are gregarious and like to live in groups, regardless of age. In order to ensure the uniform growth and development of meat ducks, the feeding density should not be too high.
After 3 weeks of age, the growth rate of meat ducks is accelerated, and breast meat and leg meat develop rapidly, so high-protein and high-energy full-price feed must be provided in the early stage, and the crude protein can be lower in the later stage, but the energy must be increased. After 3 weeks of age, due to rapid weight gain, weight, leg development can not keep up with, prone to leg disease, ducks should be driven up every 2-3 hours to move.
