After 3 weeks of age, the growth and development of piglets accelerated, and the lactation volume of sows began to decline after reaching the peak. At this time, the nutritional requirements of piglets are insufficient. If piglets learn to feed at 1 week of age, and feed normally after 3 weeks of age, they can supplement the nutritional deficiencies in breast milk from the feed. After 3 weeks of age, the piglets began to produce their own antibodies, avoiding the antibody blank period. Therefore, weaning piglets after 3 weeks of age is more appropriate. The average weaning age is 28-35 days. Early weaning of piglets can improve the reproduction rate and annual litter size of sows, improve the utilization rate of farrowing houses, reduce the production cost of piglets, and effectively control diseases.
