Chickens raised in    orchards should be strictly guarded against animal damage. Raising chickens in the wild should pay special attention to preventing the attack of natural enemies such as rats, weasels, wild dogs, foxes, eagles and snakes. The chicken house should not be too simple and shabby. The holes in the wall should be blocked in time, and the doors and windows of the chicken house should be blocked with barbed wire or nylon net. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen duty and inspection to check the presence of beasts in the stocking grounds.

What orchard is suitable for raising chickens?

The orchard chicken raising model is not strict with the requirements of forest and fruit land. Economic forests such as pear orchards, peach orchards, elevated vineyards, "four sides" forests (roadside, riverside, house side and ditch side), timber forests, etc., can raise chickens. However, there are some things that must be noted:

First, the chicken is lively and likes to leap over the branches of trees. in order not to affect the growth and development of trees, it is not suitable to raise chickens in young forest and fruit fields, dwarf orchards and gardens.

Second, it is not suitable to raise chickens in the citrus orchard, because: ① chicken manure is directly put into the citrus orchard, which is easy to cause land caking, and the ammonia produced in the process of decomposition will also cause bad nutrition to the growth of citrus. When ② chicken uses its claws to dig up the ground to find insects to eat, it is easy to dig out the citrus roots, which will damage the citrus roots, and the diseases and pests will also harm the citrus roots exposed to the ground.
