For meat breeder chickens, the prolongation of light time during the breeding period can lead to earlier sexual maturity, the age of first birth of breeder chickens is earlier, but the laying period of breeding eggs is shorter. If the light time is gradually reduced during the breeding period, sexual maturation can be delayed. Therefore, proper light control can increase the egg production of broiler breeder chickens. However, light must be closely coordinated with the quality and quantity of feed, the supply of calcium, the age of feeding weeks or the laying rate in order to improve the egg production of broiler breeders.
