I. morbidity

A total of 175000 egg-laying quails were raised in the farm. Since July 18, some quails were found to be in low spirits and died the next day, with an average of more than 700. by July 22, nearly 3000 quails had died, with a mortality rate of 1.7%. In addition, nearly 10% of the quails are sick, and the number of deaths continues to increase.

II. Clinical symptoms

Generally show acute symptoms, the main manifestations are: fluffy feathers, drooping wings, unwilling to move, reduced food intake or do not eat, some sick quails pull yellow and white thin feces. The course of the disease is generally short, and it is found that those with mental illness die the next day, and their food intake decreases significantly.

III. Changes in autopsy

The surface of the epicardium is covered with a yellow-white cellulose membrane (4), and the surface of the liver is also covered by a cellulose exudate (3). Severe peritonitis occurs in the abdominal cavity, with a large amount of yellow-white exudate on the surface of the abdominal organs, some intestinal adhesions (9), kidney enlargement, intestinal mucosal congestion, and bleeding (9).

IV. Prevention and control measures

According to the specific conditions of high feeding density and high temperature in the farm, comprehensive control measures should be taken immediately. The whole group was fed with 0.5% chloramphenicol and drinking water with 50 × 10-6 ciprofloxacin. At the same time, an appropriate amount of compound VB, water and VC were added to drinking water for 5 days. In the feeding environment, 100% of 100% poison was sterilized by spray, once a day. Do a good job of ventilation and cooling in the feeding house. After taking the above measures, the disease was basically controlled.
