Cypress species usually use Platycladus orientalis or juniper (formerly known as Sabina vulgaris) as rootstocks. The ornamental cypress, Cuibai and Huangquanbai were grafted on them as scions. It is grafted when the sap of rootstock is flowing and the sap of scion is about to flow from March to April in spring. Rootstock with three-year-old Platycladus orientalis seedlings, scion with last year's strong branches, about 15 cm long, usually using cutting method, routine operation, high survival rate.
