In the breeding process of Cymbidium, I do not know if you have encountered the situation of bad heart, that is, flowers began to have a bad heart from the central government, and if you want to solve the problem, you must first understand why it is so bad. The main reason for the bad heart of gentleman orchid is improper management.

In the high temperature season, due to miswatering, the heart leaves of Cymbidium plants rot and necrosis caused by dirty water, or the heart leaves of Cymbidium caused by insufficient fertilizer rot. Different rescue measures can be taken according to the degree of cardiac lobe necrosis.

First, the measures to save the bad heart

1. Slightly broken heart

The rotten heart of the orchid is not very serious, and the young leaves in the center of the plant have just begun to rot, so timely measures should be taken to save them.

Move the plant to a cool and ventilated place to avoid strong light and stop watering for 3-5 days to dry the basin soil. Cut off the rotten leaves in the center and wipe the juice with a clean cloth to prevent it from flowing into the center of the leaves and keep the surface dry. After that, keep the basin soil slightly moist and the leaves do not spray water as far as possible. In this way, the leaves will grow out gradually after maintenance, and the wound of the leaves can be healed thoroughly and the normal maintenance can be restored.

2. Serious heartbreak

If it is determined that it cannot be saved, you can decisively remove all the leaves on one side of the plant as soon as possible. In this way, the center of Gentleman will not accumulate water and will not cause further harm. It is beneficial for the plant to recover vitality quickly and sprout new buds by using the remaining leaves and intact roots.

The specific method is to break off the leaves on one side of the plant by hand until the rotten pseudo-bulb is exposed, and remove the decayed part with a sterilized blade until the top of the pseudo-bulb is all white. Then control the water for 2 or 3 days, change the original soil into a larger earthen basin, replace it with new soil, and replant it.

Second, how to prevent the rotten heart of the gentleman orchid

1. Avoid damage to the leaves and arrows of the orchid. After the flowers and arrows blossom and bear fruit, let them fall off freely and do not remove them artificially to prevent man-made injury. If the arrows or leaves are inadvertently injured, use cotton balls to dry the wound fluid, and disinfect the wound with iodine or alcohol, and finally apply sulfur powder to dry the wound, so as to avoid the phenomenon of rotten heart of gentleman orchid.

2. Pay attention to daily watering to avoid injecting water into the center of the foliage, so as not to cause a bad heart. Watering is recommended along the edge of the basin, which can largely prevent water from pouring into the center of the blade.
