In recent years, commercial broilers (white-feathered broilers, yellow-feathered broilers, mixed broilers, egg cocks, native chickens, etc.) have developed rapidly. in order to pursue the growth rate and reduce the mortality rate, chicken farmers often use a large number of antibiotics, and the proportion of protein in feed is on the high side. lead to kidney disease in commercial broilers, which are characterized by decreased feed intake, increased drinking water and excretion of white alkene feces.

Broiler

First, the cause of the disease:

1. Gout is caused by high protein content in feed for a long time. If the protein content of commercial broilers (special rooster and native hybrid chicken) is too high, resulting in the increase of original acid and urate in metabolism, which can not be excreted in time, it will be deposited in the kidney, urethra, standard tube and so on, resulting in the death of broilers. The infected chickens are about 14 days old, and the mortality rate accounts for 20% to 30% of the chickens who die from kidney disease.

2. Improper proportion of minerals, mainly due to the improper proportion of calcium and phosphorus, too many forceps and potash, causing the disease. Most of the sick chickens, loss of appetite, increased drinking water, white feces, bone dysplasia, unable to stand, digestive disorders lead to weight loss, until death. It accounts for 2% or 5% of diseased chickens.

3. The deficiency of vitamin A causes. The kidney of the diseased chicken is pale and swollen, a large amount of urate is deposited in the renal tubule, the crown and beard turn gray, cheese-like substances accumulate in the eye and face, growth stagnation, ataxia, and even urate deposits are found in the liver, spleen, pericardium and heart. Most chickens show symptoms after 7 days of age, accounting for 5% and 10% of diseased chickens.

4. Long-term use of sulfonamides or abuse of drugs. Destruction of glomerular filtration leads to the increase of uric acid in the body, which is characterized by renal enlargement and ascites. Gray urate can be seen in ureter, pericardium and mesentery. The time of onset is related to the dosage or time of medication. It accounts for 20% to 35% of the total incidence.

5. Caused by other diseases. It is mainly chicken pullorum, paratyphoid, typhoid, chicken bursal disease and so on. The kidney diseases caused by the above diseases are mainly related to the epidemic situation of the diseases in this area, and the age and incidence of the disease are also different. Kidney disease is only one of the symptoms, not the main cause of death. Diagnosis should be based on microbes and epidemics, accounting for 30% to 50% of diseased chickens.

Second, prevention and control measures:

In view of the above possible causes of kidney disease in broilers, the following prevention and treatment measures can be taken:

The main results are as follows: 1. Control the protein content, keep it within the feeding standard of this breed of broilers, timely change the feed, the feeding time of high-protein feed should not be too long, generally can be fed to 18-24 days old according to the growth rate.

2. Adjust the content of salt, calcium and phosphorus in feed. In particular, the salt content should not be too high. If the salt content is 0.55%, the broilers show obvious kidney disease. It is generally about 0.3%.

3. The addition of vitamin A should be increased during brooding, especially to ensure that the feed storage time should not be too long, otherwise it will cause vitamin loss.

4. When using drugs to prevent and treat other diseases, we should pay attention to their side effects, especially for drugs with large kidney damage. When using drugs, pay attention to the use of a drug should not be too long, generally 3 to 5 days, or in the use of such drugs should be matched with diuretics, when found to have kidney disease, should be fed kidney swelling detoxification drugs in time.

5. Strengthen feeding and management, often disinfect the internal and external environment of broiler houses, strictly control epidemic prevention and disinfection, and try our best to reduce the incidence of diseases.
