7-week-old quails are sexually mature. When the male quail reaches the age of 5 weeks, if there is no seed left, it can be used for fattening; female quails that lay eggs for 18 months, when the laying rate is less than 30%, should be eliminated and used for fattening. Commercial quails should be fattened 3 weeks before sale. The following measures can be taken:

quail

1. Fattening facilities. Quails were raised in multi-layer overlapping fattening boxes with a height of 10-12cm and an area of 0.3m2. There is a 3cm fence between the front and back of the box so that the quail can stretch its head to feed and drink. Fiberboard is installed on the left and right sides and at the top, and the bottom of the box is barbed wire with 1cm × 1cm mesh.

2. Suitable temperature. The suitable room temperature is 18-28 ℃, preferably 25 ℃, which is beneficial to the growth of male quails.

3. Environmental requirements. Fattening quails are suitable for raising in dark and quiet rooms. The light and shade depends on the feed in the trough and the surface of the sink that can be seen by quails. Keep quiet in the room and guard against disturbance.

4. Restrict exercise. Adopt large feeding density. Quail cages with a height of 10-12cm can breed more than 100 quails per square meter. This density can not only restrict movement, but also avoid feather pecking, and male and female quails are raised separately.

5. Feed matching. Fattening feed, mainly corn, wheat bran, rice and other high-energy feed, with protein feed. When mixing the material, it should be dry and wet moderately, that is, it is not sticky and loose. The diet formula is as follows: corn 50%, flour 10%, bean cake 10%, fish meal 5%, bone meal 8%, yeast 3%, wheat bran 5%, rice bran 5%, salt 1%, sand 3%, add appropriate amount of vitamins and trace elements, and feed green feed appropriately. Feed 4-6 times a day and night to eat enough and drink clean and adequate water.

6. Keep your appetite. Each feeding allows 2 quails to eat at the same time, resulting in a state of predation and stimulating the appetite of quails.

7. Sell at the right time. After fattening for 2-3 weeks, the weight reaches 120-140 grams. When quails have a sense of fullness in their hands, they blow up the feathers at the base of their wings and see that the skin is white or yellowish, they can be sold.
