The production level of broilers depends on the genetic potential of chickens, and the inherent potential is not only closely related to their living environment, but also closely related to feeding management. At present, many chicken farmers do not pay attention to feeding management, which affects the growth and development of broilers, causes feed waste and reduces the feeding effect. Chicken farmers should do a good job in feeding management from the following aspects in order to improve the feeding effect of broilers.

Broiler

(1) seize the opportunity to eat: after the chicks arrive in the henhouse, drink water for 2-3 hours first, and then wait for the chicks to peck or eat 24-36 hours after they come out of the shell. it is not good for the chicks to eat too early and too late. Eating too early affects the absorption and utilization of yolk in chicks and causes indigestion, thus affecting the development and feed utilization of chicks. In addition, if you start eating too early, chicken activities and chicken manure will pollute the feed and affect the health of chickens. When eating too late, the yolk is consumed too much and the physique is weak, which also affects the development and survival rate of chicks.

(2) provide adequate feeding position: each chicken has at least a wide feeding position of 5cm after 7 days of age, and the feeding position should be increased with the increase of age, reaching about 10cm at 49 days of age. If the feeding position is insufficient, it will affect the feed intake of some broilers and easily lead to uneven flock size.

(3) adjust the height of the trough regularly: with the increase of age of broilers, the height of the trough should be adjusted regularly. The upper edge of the trough should be level with the back of the chicken or higher than 2cm. The chicken has no teeth and soft palate. when pecking and drinking water, the chicken must look up and enter, and the trough is set properly, which can reduce the overflow of feed from the mouth and reduce the waste of feed.

(4) adjust the feeding times: 1-3 days old, feed every 2 hours, stop for 4-5 hours at night, gradually reduce the feeding times after 3 days old, 6-8 times per day and night, and 4-6 times in the later stage. The digestive tract of chicks is not perfect, there are no teeth, the crop is small, the secretion capacity of digestive enzymes is not perfect, and the digestive ability is poor, so the chicks should be fed less frequently at the beginning, and the feeding times will gradually decrease with the increase of age.

(5) to control the amount of each feeding: the amount of each addition should not be too much, because the digestibility of the chicken is poor and overfed, it is easy to cause indigestion and affect the feed utilization rate. The daily feed consumption should be calculated reasonably and divided equally according to the times of feeding. Add it after the last feeding, or stop for a period of time, do not add the material, otherwise it is easy to cause indigestion, picky food, affect the growth and health of chickens, but also easy to cause feed pollution.

(6) to provide high-quality feed: broilers grow rapidly and their digestive function is not complete, so it is necessary to supply digestible and nutritious full-price formula feed. Broiler feeding is generally divided into three stages: 0-20 days of age for the rearing period, 21-38 days of age for the middle stage, 39 days of age for the later stage, according to the stage to supply different feed.

(7) there is a certain transition period for refeeding: in the process of feeding, due to the different nutrients required at different stages, the raw materials also change, so refeeding is inevitable. If the material is not properly changed, it will cause stress to the broilers. Sudden change of feed may cause digestive disorder, indigestion, diarrhea and so on, affecting the growth and feed utilization of broilers. The practice shows that if the feeding is carried out gradually, it has no effect on the production of broilers. When changing the material, it is generally necessary to go through the transition of 5-7 days. The specific methods are as follows: the first feed (the feed is being used), the second one feed (to be replaced), the second one, with two days; the first one, the second, using two days; the first one, the second, using two days; the other, using two days, and then all changing into the latter feed.
