In vegetable production, mid-tillage weeding often accounts for more than 40% of the total vegetable field management. If chemical weeding is used, it can not only effectively control weeds, improve the quality and yield of vegetables, but also save a lot of weeding labor and reduce labor intensity, but the following "eight precautions" should be achieved.

First, try to use medicine in front of the seedling. Chemical weeding in vegetable fields is often treated with soil treatment, but the pesticide must be used before sowing or before sprouting, and the weeding effect should be good at the primary stage of weeds. In this way, the pollution and residue of chemicals on vegetables can be avoided or reduced.

Second, make the soil smooth and moist. When the soil is treated with herbicides, the soil surface should be flat, fine and moist, which can not only ensure uniform application, but also create favorable conditions for weed germination and make weed germination consistent, so as to achieve the purpose of killing most weeds at one time and improve the effect of weeding.

Third, medication should be used at the right time. General chemical herbicides are effective in the germination of weeds. On the other hand, when the weeds grow to 9cm or after tillering, the effect is poor or even ineffective. Therefore, the control of weeds should be carried out in the stage of weed germination.

Fourth, spray evenly. Chemical herbicides with poor wettability are prone to precipitation. Therefore, it is necessary to shake frequently during spraying to ensure uniform spraying, otherwise the concentration of the lower layer is too high and it is easy to cause drug damage.

Fifth, it is necessary to reduce the use of drugs in facility cultivation areas. The soil cultivated in protected areas and other facilities has high temperature and humidity, and its efficacy is fast and high. Therefore, the drug dosage should be reduced by 20% to 30% compared with the open field vegetable field, so as to avoid drug damage to vegetables.

Sixth, use drugs alternately. It should be noted that a herbicide should not be used alone for a long time to prevent the resistance of weeds and improve the effect of weeding.

Seventh, the soil should be covered in time. Some chemical herbicides such as trifluralin are volatile and should be covered with soil immediately after use in order to ensure the control effect. Some herbicides are easy to decompose and fail in light and cannot be exposed to the sun. Therefore, the soil should be covered immediately after taking the medicine.

Eighth, herbicides with short duration should be selected. According to different vegetable varieties and the length of growing period, it is generally better to choose herbicides with suitable duration to reduce the time of residual pollution and ensure safety.
