Watermelon cultivated in the west of greenhouse is a temperature-and light-loving crop. During the growing period, certain temperature and light conditions are needed to make the west grow well, blossom and set fruit. Varieties with low temperature and weak light resistance, disease resistance and high yield, low node position of female flowers, and easy to set melon should be selected in greenhouse or greenhouse, such as Sumi 1, Zaohua, du 3, Zhengza 5 and Jingxin 1, etc. Watermelon in greenhouse was sown and raised seedlings in electric seedbed or solar greenhouse in the first and middle of February. The seedling age was 35-40 days and 3-4 leaves. From mid-late March to early April, 20-30 days before the termination of the night frost, the ground temperature of 10cm in the greenhouse was more than 12 ℃, and the lowest temperature was more than 8 ℃.

After applying basic fertilizer, the border land was made into a small high border with a row spacing of 0.8 to 1.2m and covered with plastic film. Digging holes to plant seedlings, the plant distance is 0.33 ~ 0.4m. Planting the initial small shed, adding paper quilt or straw mat at night, the greenhouse can be set up with a membrane to keep warm, if you encounter a cold current to cool down, you must temporarily light a fire to raise the temperature or hang a double-layer film to prevent the cold. Watering as little as possible after planting, ploughing more, drawing vines and seating melons, applying farm fertilizer 1000~1500kg or cake fertilizer 250~300kg per mu, and spraying 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate and urea on the leaves during the melon expansion period. Early-maturing varieties are pruned with single vines, and there are also melons left on one side at the base in addition to the main vines. There are 1-2 melons per plant, with 5-7 leaves in front of the melon.
