Pay attention to timely core picking when planting mulberry trees

In the process of mulberry growth, taking timely core-picking method is conducive to the formation of a robust and symmetrical tree; second, it is conducive to increasing the number of mulberry hair in the same year; third, it is conducive to improving the quality of mulberry leaves. The following will be a brief introduction to the methods of core extraction in mulberry seedling stage, young mulberry stage and silkworm stage. 



First, mulberry seedlings core in the early growth stage of mulberry grafted seedlings (or cutting seedlings), when the seedling height is about 30 cm, mulberry seedlings with particularly exuberant growth momentum can be removed to suppress the strong and help the weak. If there are multiple axillary buds sprouting after core extraction, the buds should be stripped and only one axillary bud should be left to grow. In September, the core can be removed again; if axillary buds germinate after core removal, it should be stripped immediately. 



Second, the core extraction of young mulberry can increase the winding number of a single mulberry in the same year. Young mulberry is generally divided into two cores, the first time in mid-May, when there are 6-7 young mulberry leaves, take off its tender head and leave 4-5 leaves; after core-picking, 750-1000 kg manure per mu is applied to promote the germination of mulberry axillary buds and increase the number of branches. The second core-picking is generally carried out in mid-June, when the height of the new shoot is about 50 cm, and the degree of core-picking should be determined according to the growth of the new shoot, and the strong new shoot should pick less core, which can delay the germination of axillary buds; those with weak growth should pick more cores to promote the germination of axillary buds; if the growth is too weak, the new shoots can not pick cores, which can promote the balanced growth of mulberry trees.



Third, in order to improve the quality and utilization rate of mulberry leaves in silkworm period, mulberry can be core-picked in the second sleep of silkworms, and the degree of core-picking is to remove the big sparrow mouth and leave small hairy leaves. It is required to pick first, then use and then pick.
