Piglets often fight for nipples after birth, often causing three problems: first, piglets fight with each other when fighting for nipples and bite cheeks, once infected and inflamed by bacteria, it will affect their milk; second, piglets fight for nipples when sharp canine teeth bite sow nipples or breasts, causing sow pain and anxiety, refusing to breastfeed, seriously affecting piglet growth and development; third, sows often lie down due to pain and trample piglets. Therefore, it is best to cut off the canine teeth at birth to ensure normal lactation of the sow and healthy growth and development of the piglets. Shearing teeth are generally more than half of the sow's delivery or after the end of delivery, due to fatigue and relatively quiet. The method of cutting teeth is to pinch the piglet between the upper and lower jaws (that is, the two sides of the mouth) with the thumb and index finger of one hand, force the piglet to open its mouth to expose the canine teeth, and then cut off the left and right pairs of canine teeth respectively with tooth scissors or electrician's oblique pliers. Be careful not to hurt your gums and tongue when cutting teeth. Take care not to let the pig swallow the tooth particles.
