Diagnosis and treatment of Respiratory tract Disease of Egg Duck in Southern Henan

In the south of Henan Province, most egg ducks are raised in captivity, artificial pools, and the average farmer changes the water every morning. During the day, ducks move freely in enclosures and pools. due to the abnormal climate this year, the weather is always hot and cold, and the temperature difference is very large, which can easily lead to cold stress and reduce the disease resistance of ducks. In general, respiratory diseases can be well controlled without cold stress and harmful gas stimulation, even if ducks are infected with viral diseases. Raised outside the house during the day, relatively speaking, the air quality is fine, but at night 2000 ducks will be squeezed into a house of only 200,230square meters. The density is very high, the air is dirty, and some harmful gases such as ammonia will stimulate the upper respiratory tract mucosa of ducks. the wobble of the cilia on the mucosa is weakened, and even the cilia is broken, which increases the pathway for the common bacteria (Pasteurella and Escherichia coli) in the house, causing respiratory diseases.

The respiratory diseases in this area are mainly the result of influenza and duck serositis. The following will be a detailed introduction of the author's visit.

Case study: 2000 ducks raised by Zhang Yong are 180 days old.

1. Morbidity: respiratory diseases have been occurring for about 10 days, mainly coughing and sneezing. Diseased ducks discharge serous or mucinous secretions from their eyes, and some of them become dry and clog their nostrils, and their feces are thin green or yellowish green, lethargic, soft feet, unwilling to move, spasms, shaking their heads, nodding and other neurological symptoms before death. The number of eggs decreased significantly, while the number of abnormal eggs and thin-shell eggs increased.

2. autopsy changes: tracheal hemorrhage, a layer of cellulose in the pericardium and the surface of the liver, thickening of epicardium, fibrinous pneumocystitis, turbid thickening of cyst wall, severe bleeding of nipple and mucosa at the junction of myogastric and glandular stomach.

3. Diagnostic results: the mixed infection of influenza and duck serositis can be diagnosed step by step according to the incidence and the changes of autopsy.

4. Medication: mixture of distemper (4 bottles / day) + tiofurol (4 bottles / day) in the morning

Evening: Antai (4 bottles / day) concentrated mixing for 4 days.

5. Return visit: the first return visit after medication: on the 3rd day after treatment, the respiratory symptoms were significantly alleviated, the sound of coughing and sneezing was much less, and there were mucous secretions from the corners of the eyes of individual ducks, and food intake began to increase. The second return visit after medication: the original nostril flow mucus secretion has obvious scab traces, now pressing the nostrils with hands, there is no runny nose, deformed eggs, thin-shell eggs are also significantly reduced, and the egg laying rate is not decreasing.

6. Recovery period after illness: after using five jin more eggs for a week, deformed eggs and thin-shell eggs have become shiny without eggshells, and the laying rate has not only recovered but also increased by 10 points.

Seeing that the effect of laying five jin more eggs during the recovery period is so obvious, and listening to technical experts say that more than five jin eggs is a feed additive, which is mainly composed of polyembryonic protease, and the carrier is Chinese herbal medicine, which can be added for a long time. Polyembryonic protease can convert corn germ protein which is difficult to absorb into essential amino acids through the gastrointestinal environment of laying birds, improve the digestion and absorption rate of feed protein, and increase egg production by enriching protein. and polyembryonic protease can also synthesize nucleotides in corn germ into interferon, so as to improve the immunity of laying birds and control the occurrence of diseases.

As a carrier of Chinese herbal medicine, it can activate ovarian ovulation, slow down the aging of fallopian tubes and prolong the peak laying period of laying birds.

Farmer Zhang Yong began to add five jin more eggs to the laying ducks from the 180th day until they were eliminated. There was no more epidemic in the duck flock. The breeding process has been stable. The laying rate has been maintained at more than 90% for half a year. The average weight gain of 3.45g/ eggs is 20 more than usual. Each duck lays 20 more duck eggs a year, which is equivalent to 5.1jin more eggs per duck in a year. "laying five jin more eggs" really lives up to the name!
