1. Peacock breeding and management

1 brooding. It is best to raise chicks in cages. The temperature of 1-3 days old should be 30 ℃ ~ 31 ℃, and that of 1 week old should be more than 28 ℃. Ten peacocks were raised in each cage at the age of 1-2 weeks, 6-8 at 3-4 weeks, and 5 at 5-8 weeks old. The chicks first drink with multivitamin water or 0.02% potassium permanganate water, and then feed chicken flowers and yellow powder insects. If there are no yellow powder insects, the chicken flower material can be mixed with 3% or 5% fish meal or fed with chopped cooked eggs. Adequate supply of drinking water, drinking water properly add complex vitamin B solution.

(2) the breeding of adult finches. At the age of 60 days, the peacock was transferred from the nestling cage to the breeding pen, with a density of 10 birds per 30 square meters. The feed can be fed with pigeon feed composed of medium chicken feed and corn and peas in two feed buckets, with 3% fish meal in the chicken feed and health care sand in a basin at the same time. Supply a small amount of fresh green fodder every day.

Three species of finches. A group of egg laying groups were raised in each shed, with 6 eggs in each group, and the ratio of male to female was 1 ∶ 5 . You can't put two male finches in the same column at the same time, otherwise, the male finches will fight and affect the egg laying rate and fertilization rate. Species feed with chicken feed plus 5% fish meal and pigeon feed, but also need to supply health care sand. It is best to supplement the feeding of yellow powder worms, each with 50 grams a day, and keep a small amount of fresh green fodder. Chicken feed crude protein 18% 20%, energy 11.70 ~ 12.54 megajoules / kg. Pigeon formula can be used: corn 50%, bamboo bean 8%, hemp kernel 5%, wheat 10%, pea 18%, mung bean 5%, brown rice 4%. Health sand reference formula: red mud 40%, bone powder 10%, oyster meal 30%, salt 3%, medium sand 10%, andrographis paniculata 2%, oxytetracycline 1%, multivitamins 1%, red iron oxide 2%, auxin 1%. Provide adequate clean drinking water every day.

2. Peacock breeding

The main results are as follows: 1 the breeding seasonality of peacocks is very strong, and the annual laying season is from March to August. The age of sexual maturity of peacocks is 22 ~ 24 months old, the useful life is 5 years, and the number of eggs laid is about 30 eggs per year. The time for laying eggs every day is 5: 00 p. M. and 9: 00 p.m., and one egg is laid every other day, sometimes every few days, instead of laying eggs every day.

(2) make a good population combination before the peacock enters the breeding season. In seed selection, healthy birds with good plumage, strong feet and uncurved toes should be selected, and attention should be paid to avoiding inbreeding. The ratio of male to female is 1 ∶ 5, and do not match with 1 ∶ 1, otherwise, the female will be maimed due to excessive mating, and the utilization rate of the barracks and males will not be economical. However, the ratio of 1 ∶ 5 should not be exceeded, otherwise, the fertilization rate would be reduced. Each combination is an egg-laying group, and each egg-laying group can only be raised in one shed. Into the laying season, peacocks begin to estrus, males will send out courtship signals, usually before 10:00 in the morning and after 5: 00 p.m. Male sparrow courtship, first open the screen, head close to the female, and turn around the female. If the female is in estrus, squat down and let the male climb. If the female is not in estrus, there is no response, ignoring or avoiding the male. If the peacock is stimulated by external interference, the peacock will also open the screen and make a call, which is alerted by external interference. Half a month after the peacock courtship, the female begins to give birth. As the egg laying approaches, the female always walks around and makes a "cackle" sound, showing restlessness and irritability, crawling to the nest with both claws, and then laying eggs in the nest.

(3) the peacock eggs weigh about 108 grams per egg, and the incubation period is 26-28 days. Peacock eggs must be collected and stored in cold storage in time and hatched every 5 days. The incubation temperature is 37.5 ℃ and the humidity is 65% and 70%. When incubated for 25 days, the embryo eggs were transferred to the hatching machine with a temperature of 37 ℃ and a humidity of 75%. The newly hatched chick weighs 80 grams per bird.

III. Disease prevention and treatment

Disease must give priority to prevention. At ordinary times, the work of cleaning and hygiene must be strengthened in feeding and management. The peacock must disinfect the shed and utensils before entering the fence each time. Deworming is carried out quarterly. Newcastle disease Ⅱ vaccine was given by eye drip at 7 days old, and Newcastle disease Ⅰ vaccine was injected intramuscularly at 30 days old and 60 days old respectively. Inactivated Newcastle disease vaccine was injected intramuscularly once a year before the start of production.
