In winter, often because of the cold weather, sheep can not go out for grazing, and house feeding time is more. Therefore, the sheep's hooves are often too long or tilted to one side, seriously affecting the feeding and walking of sheep. Sheep should be checked in early spring to trim overgrown or abnormal hooves.

The way to trim the hooves is to soak the sheep's hooves in water, or when the hooves are soft after the rain, put the sheep on the ground and cut off the overlong part with fruit trees. Don't cut too much at a time to avoid damage to the inside. Sheep with incorrect hooves should be pruned many times.

The parasites in the abdomen of sheep generally include stomach worms, hookworms, sarcoid worms, tapeworms, liver worms and so on, which are very harmful to sheep. Sheep should be dewormed once a year in early spring. when deworming a large flock of sheep, several sheep should be selected for efficacy tests. the purpose of the test is to see whether the selected drugs are right or not, and the other is to prevent a large number of sheep poisoning, because most deworming drugs are toxic. Therefore, it must be tested to verify that it is really safe and effective before it is used in large groups.

The main round nematodes are Ascaris lumbricoides, sarcoidae, hookworms, whipworms and so on. These parasites are often parasitic in the digestive tract of sheep. For these parasites, you can choose 1% refined trichlorfon solution, calculated as 0.06 grams per kilogram body weight of sheep, once on an empty stomach, once a day for 3 days. To get rid of Fasciola hepatica, you can choose nitrochlorophenol and take it at a dose of 3 mg per kilogram of body weight, once a day for 3 days.

So remind farmers to pay attention to the hoofing and deworming of your sheep in early spring!
