Spring grazing

Graze at 5-9 o'clock and 14-18:00 every day.

It is required to release sunny slopes in early spring and shady slopes in late spring. In early spring grazing in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas, grazing should be done as far as possible to sunny slopes with early melting of ice and snow, luxuriant oak trees with yellow tussah leaves, shrub areas with many sticks and firewood, and sunny hillsides and barren slopes where sheep beard grass germinates early. Before and after the Qingming Festival to May Day, when the grass just came out, Yuanwang pasture was green, and the deer appeared green, and the herd marched very fast, especially the mare deer, who could walk more than ten li in the first hour. therefore, the herdsman should control the deer, and the herdsman should cooperate with the herder and stare at the young while Luoshi fart, not only let the deer concentrate, but also let the deer eat as little as possible. In mid-late May, graze in tall meadow ditches and ponds and along rivers, forests and small rivers, as well as grazing beside all kinds of Penny, dandelion and mountain pepper.

summer pasturing

In summer, the forage grass is luxuriant, the weather is hot, the weather is stormy, and there are more cattle and snakes at noon. According to the climatic characteristics of this season and the foraging characteristics of deer in the morning and dusk, two heads should be grazed in the morning and evening, and the noon rest time should be extended. The daily grazing time is 4-9 o'clock, 15-19:00.

It should be grazed in bushes, hillside slopes, sparse woodlands, forest-edge wastelands, valleys and reservoirs. Go out to graze on an empty stomach in the early hours of every morning, first graze on poor pastures, wait until most deer crawl and lie down after eating, rest for 30-40 minutes, then drive the deer to the grassy pastures for a while, and return to grazing at 9 o'clock after eating. Only concentrate feed is given after giving up. Afternoon grazing also needs a rest in the middle of grazing. It is hot in summer, if there is a clean water source on the pastoral land, you should drink once in the morning and afternoon. If you do not return to the house at noon and graze all day, you need to install drinking water facilities in the pastoral land. When deer are suddenly attacked by thunder, lightning and storm while grazing, it is easy to blow up the herd. Herders should encircle the herd in advance and control the herd according to the change of weather. In the middle and last ten days of August, graze as far as possible in the pastures where there are abundant Hu Zhizi, young tussah forest and legume, so as to catch the fat as soon as possible. In addition, in case of continuous rainy days, grazing should be stopped to prevent damage to pastures.

Autumn grazing

Graze twice from 7 to 11:00 and 13 to 17:00 every day.

The climate in autumn is gradually cool, the temperature is suitable, and the grass seeds are gradually mature, which has high nutritional value, which is a good season for female deer and breeding deer to grab autumn fat. The grazing lands in this season are grasslands, shrubs, sunny slopes of barren mountains, forest clearings and farmland after harvest. At the beginning of September, it is most suitable to graze in places with many seeds, such as acorns and falling bean seedlings, and on green grass pastures. In the mountainous and hilly pastures, due to the influence of topography, topography and tall woody plants, there are still unfrosted green pastures before and after the "National Day". They can still choose to stay green so that the deer can feed as much as possible. In such pasture, the method of encircling grazing can be used to increase the feed intake of deer. Crops should be protected in autumn when grazing in pastures close to farmland or vegetable fields. Once deer herding has tasted sweetness, it will develop the bad habit of walking, drilling, and stealing crops while herding, so it should be strictly controlled from the very beginning.

Winter grazing

Graze once a day from 9 to 14:00.

This period should choose shelter from the wind to the sun on the slopes, ditches and ponds or forest open land grazing. It is best to stop grazing in blizzard days and cold January. In the pasture, deer mainly feed on fallen leaves, twigs of bushes and dead leaves and branches on sticks. For suckling deer and adult deer, sports-based grazing should be carried out daily in open spaces, roadsides and bushes near the deer house, even in severe winter.
