Therefore, it is particularly important to do a good job in the feeding, management and health care of beef cattle in early spring. The following seven aspects should be paid attention to during the cold spring period.

1. Disease prevention. Many beef farms choose to breed beef cattle in winter. Winter breeding can avoid calving in hot summer, which is not only conducive to the high yield of beef cattle, but also easy to raise calves and improve the health level of calves. At present, with the popularization of animal husbandry science and technology, almost all beef cattle are bred artificially, but when some breeders do artificial insemination to beef cattle, due to technical reasons and carelessness, sanitary disinfection is not thorough. It is often easy to cause varying degrees of trauma or infection to the vagina and uterus of beef cattle. During the spring cold period, we must timely observe whether there are abnormal lesions in the vaginal secretions of beef cattle every day, do a good job in the prevention of diseases such as hysteritis, detect diseases, and treat them as soon as possible to ensure the safety and health of beef cattle during the spring cold period.

2. Forage. There are at least three kinds of dietary combinations for beef cattle each time. The diet should be based on high-quality hay, more silage, more green and juicy feed, such as carrots and potatoes, and roughage until the beef cattle are full. the amount of concentrate feed should be determined according to the individual and demand of beef cattle.

3. Drinking water. During the spring cold period, the drinking water temperature of beef cattle should be kept at 10 ℃ ~ 12 ℃. If there are conditions, the drinking water should be cooled to 10 ℃ ~ 12 ℃ after high temperature disinfection. Sufficient drinking water for beef cattle must be ensured.

4. Insist on brushing the cow. Every day to ensure that twice in the morning and evening 8 minutes to 10 minutes of cattle health care brush, health care brush throughout the whole body of beef cattle, for beef cattle breasts should be gently grasped and massaged, which is conducive to the prevention of breast inflammation.

5. Increase the health care time of sunbathing. Often basking in the sun has a health effect on beef cattle, enhance their immunity and prevent all kinds of infections. Because the ultraviolet rays in the sun can kill pathogenic microorganisms. And ultraviolet can increase the absorption of calcium, in the process of feeding in the middle of winter, beef cattle consume a lot of heat energy and nutrient elements, the intake of calcium is relatively large, and calcium intake depends on vitamin D in the blood of beef cattle. Natural vitamin D can be absorbed into the blood of beef cattle only if it is changed into vitamin D2 and vitamin D3 after ultraviolet radiation.

6. Strengthen the exercise appropriately. With the temperature rising in early spring and the weather getting warmer, beef cattle are used to lying down when they are full and do not want to exercise. The exercise time of beef cattle should be increased by 2 hours to 3 hours every day, which can not only promote the health of beef cattle, but also promote the milk production of beef cattle. In the bright spring and sunny days, driving the cattle into the open grass, breathing the fresh air of nature and letting the cattle move freely is very important to the health of beef cattle.

7. Keep the barn temperature. The weather in spring is cold and hot, and the temperature difference between day and night is large. Farmers are easy to ignore the cold prevention work of beef cattle, which can easily lead to diseases of beef cattle and high feeding costs. Therefore, after keeping ventilation in the house for 3 to 5 hours during the day, doors and windows should be closed and vents should be adjusted in time, disinfection should be done regularly, excrement of beef cattle should be cleaned in time, and the house should be kept dry and clean. And replace the bedgrass soaked and polluted by feces on the ground in time to create a better living environment for beef cattle.
