In pigeon production, due to improper breeding management appear thin young pigeons, if the number is large, it will directly affect the economic benefits of pigeon breeding. The solution is as follows:

1. Health sand can keep young pigeons strong digestion and good absorption state. If all kinds of nutrients in the health sand are incomplete, the preparation process is not scientific, the use method is improper, the various nutrients needed by the squab itself are not satisfied, the growth and development are hindered, and the squab will be thin and small. Therefore, it is necessary to apply health sand correctly.

2. Drinking water supply. Frequent lack of water will cause squab tissue cells to lose water, increase body temperature, affect digestion, absorption, metabolism and a series of biochemical reactions in the body, leading to growth and development obstruction, body weight. The solution is to provide sufficient clean water throughout the day.

3. Insufficient feed per meal can also cause squab to be thin. To avoid this phenomenon, the following feeding methods can be adopted: feeding three meals a day without young pigeons, and feeding one meal at night with young pigeons.

4. When the environmental temperature of the squab is too high, it is easy to suffer from respiratory diseases and become smaller and thinner; when the environmental temperature of the squab is too low, on the one hand, the squab will suffer from pneumonia and diarrhea; on the other hand, the squab must consume a lot of energy to maintain the body temperature balance. These factors will cause the squab to lose weight, so the appropriate temperature is the necessary condition to ensure the healthy growth of the squab.

5. After the hatchling is born, there are umbilical cords and wounds. If proper sanitation and disinfection are not done, the dirt in the nest will be contaminated and inhaled by the umbilical cord wound, and bacteria will spread and multiply in the umbilical cord wound. After a week, the umbilical cord around the beginning of redness, abdominal contents sag, the disease will seriously affect the healthy growth of young pigeons. The solution is to disinfect the umbilical cord wound with iodine.

6. When the number of young pigeons in each litter is 3 or 4, due to the large number of young pigeons, the number of pigeon milk fed to each young pigeon is not enough, the young pigeons are not full, malnutrition occurs, and the young pigeons are thin. Therefore, it is better to keep the number of pigeons per litter at two.
