How to raise native chicken in mountain orchard

[feeding management]

Mainly to do a good job in the management of the rearing period. The whole rearing period is carried out in the orchard and the chicken coop in the winter fallow field. therefore, the chick rearing period should mainly do a good job of heat preservation and disease prevention.

Preparation before brooding: infrared light bulbs can be used to keep warm where there is power supply, and self-made iron bucket stoves can be used to keep warm where there is a lack of power, and there is a chimney to discharge gas outside the house. 4-5 days before brooding, the chicks are sterilized and covered with dried straw, husks and sawdust as bedding. The cushion is changed once a week during brooding. Turn on the heat preservation equipment for preheating 1-2 days before brooding.

Feeding and management during the brooding period: chicks are generally kept indoors, and the de-heating age is determined according to different seasons, about 30 days in winter and spring, 10 days in summer and 15 days in autumn, which should be flexibly mastered according to the actual situation.

[pay attention to ventilation]

This is especially important during the period of brooding in winter fallow fields. Ventilation and heat preservation are relative, but both should be taken into account. Often judged by the smell in the house, it is generally better to enter the nursery in the morning without an unpleasant smell.

[grazing]

Chicks are generally raised indoors for a month, then choose sunny days for trial grazing in a small area, and then gradually expand the grazing range and prolong the grazing time. Grazing not only increases exercise and strengthens physique, but also makes chicken foraging Cordyceps sinensis supplement crude fiber, vitamins, animal and plant protein, trace elements and so on.

[disease prevention and treatment]

The feeding mode of semi-grazing in orchard winter fallow fields requires veterinarians to take epidemic prevention and control measures according to the local epidemic situation.

[prevention and treatment of common diseases]

(1) Chicken pullorum: norfloxacin or propofol drinking water or norfloxacin was mixed with norfloxacin or norfloxacin for 3-5 days, intermittently.

(2) coccidiosis: this is the most common and difficult to control disease in orchard chickens. From the age of 12 to 15 days, three kinds of anti-coccidial drugs were selected, each drug was used for 3-5 days, and fed alternately.

(3) deworming: as grazing is prone to ascariasis, 30-day-old and 60-day-old were fed with levamisole once respectively.

(4) pecking habit: native chickens have the habit of pecking at each other, and the peak is from 3 weeks to 5 weeks old. the prevention and control measures use black cloth to cover the chicken coop and add gypsum or sodium sulfate and 8 days old to 10 days old.
