The warm weather in spring and summer is an important period for rex rabbit breeding. Recently, when the reporter went to the countryside, he heard some farmers say that they wanted to develop the breeding of Rex rabbits, but they knew too little about it. I hope I can find experts to make some technical introduction. The reporter recently interviewed he Guiming, the person in charge of the Rex Rabbit Research Institute of Sichuan grassland Science Research Institute and a famous expert in rex rabbit breeding. According to the production technology of high-quality commercial rabbits, he introduced the breeding knowledge of Rex rabbits to farmers.

Management of young and young rabbits

There are no more than 7 newborn rabbits in each litter, and the excess rabbits are incorporated into the foster care of female rabbits of similar age, and the weak ones are eliminated directly.

The starting time of supplementary feeding is 18-22 days in winter, 5-7 days in advance in summer, and the amount of feed is less and more meals.

After 28 days of weaning, two meals a day were used for excessive weaning. The total feeding amount is flexible according to the body condition, and the weaning time is 30 to 35 days.

35 days after vaccination, the combined vaccine was injected, 45 days later, Clostridium welchii vaccine was injected, and the vaccine was injected once at the age of 60-70 days.

The young rabbits were fed with full-price feed for 80 days, twice a day, without adding grass, regular and quantitative (50g / 150g).

Do not move the cage temporarily after weaning. After 10 or 15 days of weaning, the young rabbits can be divided into two cages after weaning stress. It is best to divide each litter into about 3, so as to avoid fights between different litters. After being divided into cages, the young rabbits directly entered the youth house to reduce stress (in the past, they were divided into about 50 days, and 2.5 kg and 3.0 jin were moved into the youth house once more). In the process of handing over the young rabbit house, the male, female and remnant rabbits were transferred to the youth house and raised in a single cage.

The identification and elimination of the newborn rabbits is based on 7 as the standard, and the extra rabbits can be substituted when they can be transferred to other female rabbits (if the difference in birth is less than 3 days, choose the larger ones from the number of rabbits that exceed the standard. (the small ones are left in the original cage to feed), and those that are too weak are eliminated directly. After 80 days, the commercial Rex rabbits with dull color, sparse coat, arched back, thin physique, malnutrition or body surface disability, scabs, cysts and other hidden diseases were eliminated and the rabbits were eliminated as meat rabbits. If the weight is not up to the standard, it can be specially raised together and sold after reaching the standard, and no longer feed. Irregular elimination will be done after 80 days, and meat rabbits with poor fur density, poor smoothness and high coarse hair rate will be eliminated in time.

There are more and more rabbits raised in rural areas. Rabbits are divided into three types: large, medium and small in size, and can also be divided into three types: food, pet and fur. Rabbits are herbivorous mammals. We raise more Rex rabbits in rural areas. Rex rabbits mainly sell skins, and the price of rabbit meat is also very good.

Compared with other livestock, the self-immunity and resistance of rabbits are relatively weak, the resistance to various diseases and insect pests is also relatively low, and the reproduction rate of rabbits is high, but the survival rate of young rabbits is the key to economic benefits. We must have excellent breeding techniques and scientific breeding in order to create greater economic benefits for us.
