At present, there are two ways to raise houseflies in China, that is, cage culture and house culture. The two kinds of culture methods have their own advantages, cage culture isolation is better, more hygienic, can create suitable breeding conditions, but the utilization rate of the house is not high; house culture can improve the utilization rate, and the equipment is simple, labor-saving and cost-saving, which is more suitable for large-scale continuous production, but the management is inconvenient, and adult flies are easy to escape.

(1) the design of the fly breeding room and the infrastructure of the feeding room: generally speaking, the area of the bungalow is 15-20 meters ², the house is equipped with iron screen and glass windows, and the windows are equipped with exhaust fans. There is a heating fire wall or stove in the room to keep the temperature between 25 and 30 ℃, and the air relative humidity is adjusted to about 70%. The door is equipped with iron screen and covered with black cloth curtain to prevent flies from escaping. The new fly house should be a row of flat houses facing north and south. There is a closed walkway in the north, and there is an operating room in the middle, which opens the door back and forth. Fly rooms on both sides open to the north, leading to the aisle from the back door of the workshop and 1. 5% to the south. 7 meters x 1. 8 meters of glass windows, each with an area of 38. 5 m ²(2. 5 meters x 5. 5 meters × 2. 8 meters), with screen doors, screen windows, exhaust fans and underground fire channels. This kind of fly room has the advantages of suitable size, high utilization rate, abundant sunshine and good ventilation, and the north closed walkway can effectively prevent adult flies from escaping, cushion the attack of north wind in winter and make use of indoor heat preservation. According to the specific local conditions, it can also be designed into a simple greenhouse and house combination of adult fly breeding room. Build a cement pool outdoors, inject human, livestock, poultry and human feces, attract flies to lay eggs, hatch into maggots, regularly inject feed and fish out maggots for use. This method is the simplest and economical, but the yield is low and is greatly affected by the environment. When raising adult flies in the room, after eliminating adult flies, you should also thoroughly clean the ground and surrounding walls and disinfect them with ultraviolet light for 3 hours.

(2) the equipment used in cage breeding is relatively simple, such as fly cage, spawning tank, drinking tank, feed plate, cage rack and so on. Fly cage: the size is determined according to the scale of housefly breeding. For example, it can be sewn with white glue plastic window screen (preferably mosquito curtain cloth) with a specification of 50 cm × 50 cm × 50 cm. The eight corners of the cage are fixed on the wooden frame or iron frame with straps or iron rings to fix the fly cage into a certain shape. a cage of this size can hold 10, 000 to 1. It is suitable for the adult of 20 000 houseflies. Open a round hole with a diameter of about 20 cm on one side of the cage, sew one end of the cloth tube on the round hole, and the other end as the operation hole, usually tie the mouth or pull a buckle with a leather band, and extend the hand from the cloth tube during operation to change water, add feed, and so on. You can also use wooden strips or 6. The 5 mm steel bar is made into a rectangular frame of 65 cm × 80 cm × 90 cm, then covered with plastic yarn or iron yarn or fine-eyed copper yarn, and a cloth cover opening is also installed on one side of the fly cage for feeding and water feeding. take and put the spawning pad (figure 24). The fly cage should be placed in a place where there is plenty of light in the room without direct sunlight. Each fly cage should also be equipped with a feed plate and a drinking tank, which should be added to the spawning tank when spawning. Feed plate: all kinds of plates (enamel plate, disposable plastic plate, etc.) can be put on milk powder and brown sugar (food for adult flies), which can be eaten by most adult flies. Drinking water tank: in each fly cage, two dishes or bowls with a diameter of about 13cm are placed in each fly cage, in which an immersed sponge is placed for houseflies to drink. Oviposition tank: the pupa can be put into the spawning tank on the fourth day after emergence as an adult fly. The spawning tank can be the same as the drinking water tank and requires a certain height. Usually 3-4 cm is better. In this way, the humidity of the culture medium can be maintained, 1 or 2 per cage. Cage rack: the cage rack is designed according to the size of the fly cage, the feeding capacity and the size of the fly breeding room (figure 25). Cage rack can be made of wood, steel bar, angle iron electric welding, size as long as you can set up a fly cage. In order to save space, there are usually several layers of overlap, as long as the operator is convenient to operate. Take the 50cm × 50cm × 50cm fly cage as an example, the cage frame can be designed as follows: the total height is about 180cm, divided into three layers, each layer is more than 50cm, and the length is more than 100cm. Put 3 cages on each floor, a total of 6 cages, the lower leg 20-30 cm high, because the temperature is low from the ground, should try to use more than 30 cm above the ground space.

The breeding room for caged flies should be equipped with constant temperature equipment for breeding and breeding in the four seasons. The roof is about 2. 5% high. 5 meters, the walls and roofs had better be insulated to facilitate heat preservation. A simple heat preservation method can be connected with a 1 000 watt heating furnace or electric heater to a temperature controller, and an air conditioner can be installed where possible to maintain the temperature. The temperature should be controlled at 24-30 ℃, not lower than 20 ℃ or higher than 35 ℃, and the indoor humidity should be controlled at 50%-70%. A 40-watt fluorescent lamp or a 100-watt bulb should be installed in the middle of the room.
