Meat mandarin duck, also known as mandarin duck, is a kind of meat, medicinal, nourishing and ornamental poultry.

Economic value

The meat mandarin duck has the advantages of fast growth and low feeding cost, which can reach 3 kg in 80 days. It begins to lay eggs at the age of 6 months. From childhood to maturity and during the laying period, the average daily feed is only 0.25 jin. About 200 eggs can be laid annually, with an average egg weight of 72 grams and the largest 100 grams. Mandarin duck meat is delicious and pure, even better than soft-shelled turtle.

Life habits

Meat mandarin ducks can be raised in water or dry. Heat-resistant and cold-resistant, strong adaptability, can be raised all over the country.

Feeding method

The breeding and management of mandarin ducks can be mixed with male and female according to 1 ∶ 3, either in captivity, in free range or in free range. It is appropriate to keep 50 to 100 in captivity, and there should be a pool and a suitable activity area in the circle, as well as egg-laying boxes or egg-laying ponds with continuous drinking water. Try to keep the house dry, clean, ventilated and well lit. In terms of feed, concentrate should be fed during the laying period. At the same time, add some inorganic salts and trace elements. During the off-natal period, it can be raised roughly.

Feeding and management of mandarin ducks within 1 ~ 3 days after hatching, the chicks are sensitive to temperature and like to sleep easily. The temperature should be kept at no less than 30 ℃. The temperature decreased gradually after 3 days. At the same time, we should maintain the light time and intensity, gradually shorten and weaken the light with its growth, eat about 24 hours after coming out of the shell, keep drinking water continuously, and the mandarin duck should not go into the water. Feed can be fed to chickens, ducks, raw rice, noodles and so on.

The growth rate of young mandarin ducks is accelerated after 1 month of age, especially from 2 months to 4 months, so it is also the period when the mandarin ducks eat the most and need to provide full-price feed. If possible, keep the male and female separately. In this period, when the beak feather grows twice, one is when the tail feather grows at about 1 month old, and the other is when the main wing feather grows after 2 months old, in order to reduce the beak feather, sulfur-containing amino acids and additives for treating beak feather should be added at the age of 20 days. such as feather powder, stop beak feather and so on. Pay attention to breeding density and environmental hygiene, limit light intensity and so on.
