Indoor cultivation of Gastrodia elata has four advantages: first, it is easy to control temperature and humidity, which can create a suitable environment for the growth of Gastrodia elata; second, to prevent the breeding of weeds; third, it is easy to manage; fourth, the cultivated commercial flax is large and of high quality. The author's cultivation experience in the past 10 years is introduced as follows:

1. Build the box frame. In the selected room, use brick to form a box. The width and height of the box are 1m respectively, and the length depends on the length of the room. There is a 50cm aisle between the frame to facilitate daily management. After the box is finished, fill the box with 10-15cm thick soil. When filling the soil, the grubs, mole crickets and other underground pests in the soil should be removed to prevent these pests from harming Gastrodia elata in the future. At the same time, there should be windows in the room for ventilation.

2. Select hemp. Select fresh white flax and rice flax, strictly eliminate breakage, insect pests, miscellaneous bacteria infection, mycelium winding flax. The selected seed hemp is spread flat on the ground before cultivation and covered with moist fine soil or leaves to prevent the seed hemp from drying up and dying. And pay attention to the operation should be handled gently, gently put, and avoid mixing seeds with sweaty hands.

3. Choose the fungus. Gastrodia elata is an orchid plant, can not make its own nutrients, must Armillaria mellea symbiosis to get nutrition and reproduction and growth. Armillaria mellea is a kind of parasitic bacteria, which generally lives on dead trees, so it is necessary to select Armillaria mellea when cultivating Gastrodia elata. The new fungus material of Armillaria mellea should be selected with normal development, hyphae tightly attached to the fish scale and no miscellaneous bacteria infection.

4. Prepare enough leaves. Collect all kinds of leaves, except those containing oils (such as pine, fir, cypress, etc.), especially semi-rotten leaves are the best. When collecting leaves, do not collect leaves infected by various molds, so as to prevent miscellaneous bacteria from spreading into the box and causing Gastrodia elata seed to rot.

5. Cultivation methods. In the built box frame, first sprinkle a layer of leaves, the thickness of 10-15cm is appropriate, and then put Armillaria mellea material on the leaves, put the fungus material into a "I" shape, and according to the length of the fungus material, put a seed flax every 8-10cm, then fill the gap between the fungus wood with leaves, and cover it with 20cm thickness. Sow the second layer with the same method, but the fungus should be misplaced with the first layer, and finally cover the leaves to level with the mouth of the box. The cultivation time is generally from October to March of the following year.

6. Management measures. ① regular watering, generally 10 ℃ every 15 days watering, should be gently watered, do not sprinkle, lest too much water will rot Gastrodia elata; ② to control the indoor temperature, so that the room temperature between 20 ℃-25 ℃, at the same time to ensure indoor ventilation; ③ to prevent rats from burrowing and stealing seed ④ enters the later stage of expansion, that is, the mature stage, and must be checked once every 7 days. It is found that the color of Arrow and White Gastrodia turns yellow, some of them have rotten holes, and Gastrodia elata is entangled by Armillaria mellea, indicating that Gastrodia elata can no longer grow and must be dug and processed in time, otherwise it will rot.
