Feeding and management methods in the early stage of raising broilers

With the continuous improvement of genetics and breeding and feed nutrition formula technology, the feeding level of broilers is also constantly improving. combined with practical work experience, new viewpoints on early feeding and management of broilers are put forward.

The main results are as follows: (1) do a good job of early feeding of chicks so that chicks can develop evenly and well in the first week. From the 1st day of age, the chicks should also pay attention to the work of uniformity on the basis of ensuring the survival rate. The weight and evenness of the chicks in the first week are very important, and they must reach the standard, otherwise they will affect the body weight out of the fence, so carefully pick out those who are not in good food or in poor condition after entering the house. including smaller chickens, can be fed alone, given careful care, this work has no obvious time requirements.

(2) change the previous method of feeding chicks after drinking water for a period of time, to add all the water before the arrival of chicks, especially from the introduction of Ross 308, according to the advice of experts, put forward the requirements of water and materials for the early management work at the same time, but so far there are still some farms do not dare to do, always think that "the chicks should be given water before feeding, for fear of causing serious dehydration", from the practice in recent years. This is completely an old concept. In our work, we found that when we set up feed and drinking water, the chicks will choose according to their own needs. If dehydration is more serious, they will grab water and drink, and they will eat food only after drinking water. On the contrary, if there is no dehydration, drinking water is not very active, running back in front of the trough.

3 change the previous practice of distributing drinking fountains according to the number of chickens, and increase the number of drinking fountains accordingly, so that the chicks can easily find water in the column after entering the house. it is best to put the vacuum drinking fountain on the brick when entering the house. to prevent chicks from "bathing" after dehydration caused by long-distance transportation, add water from the second time, and then put them online to gradually lead the chickens to automatic drinking equipment, where possible. It is convenient for chicks to use automatic drinking water equipment as soon as possible. Remove 1/4 drinking fountains every day from the fifth day. Please remember not to use automatic drinking water equipment directly when entering the house.

4 if, on the first day of arrival, the chicks do not use the material tray, but use clean plastic sheeting to spread on the net or clean hard paper, and sprinkle the food on it for the chicks to eat, the effect is far better than using the material tray alone, especially in extreme weather conditions, when the chicks are in bad condition after long-distance transportation, the effect of this feeding method is better. In theory, this method is prone to fecal pollution and waste of feed and other problems, but in practice it can be overcome through good management.
