Chinese bamboo rat, also known as bamboo rat, Rattus norvegicus, belongs to mammalian rodent bamboo rodent family. Fat, about 25cm long, gray back and abdomen, small eyes and ears, short limbs and tail, living in bamboo forest, mango pole, cave, eating bamboo, mango pole and its underground stem. Distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangdong, Fujian, Hubei, Sichuan and northern Myanmar.

Bamboo rat meat is delicious, low-fat, high-protein, contains a variety of vitamins and iron and zinc nutrients needed by the human body, is a mountain variety that hotels, restaurants and general restaurants like to buy, and fur can be deeply processed and developed. Practice has proved that raising bamboo rats is a good way to generate income for farmers in mountainous areas.

I. feeding and management

The site should be well ventilated, north facing south, warm in winter and cool in summer, and nearby places rich in bamboo and mango resources. The indoor pond can be raised with red brick cement into a 50cm × 50cm × 70cm breeding pool (10 per square meter), with a 15cm × 10cm defecation window and a 6mm iron branch every 2cm. You can also use the old house to combine with the actual reasonable layout.

Bamboo mouse staple food all kinds of bamboo, mango, sugar cane, sweet potato, corn stalk and so on. First remove the leaves of bamboo, awn stalk and corn stalk, and use cold dry as a staple food. Feed two meals a day, and feed 1 ∶ 9 rice, cornmeal or rice bran (rice 1 ∶ cornmeal or rice bran 9, wet with boiling water) at about 8 o'clock in the morning. Each mouse is fed 15g to 35g, depending on the size of the hamster and the principle of not wasting enough to eat. At about 5 o'clock in the evening, you should be fed with fresh and hygienic mango bars (about 225 grams), which are twice as long as rodents. Do not feed water. Clean it once a day to keep the pool dry and clean. If you find rat lice, you can kill it with a magic pen or black whirlwind insecticidal water.

Bamboo mouse has wide adaptability and can grow normally at room temperature of 0: 30 ℃. The indoor temperature should be cooled when the indoor temperature is more than 35 ℃, while it should be kept warm when the indoor temperature is less than 6 ℃.

II. Reproduction

Bamboo rats have strong fecundity, each female rat can give birth to 3-4 litters per year, 2-8 per litter. The young mice can grow to 1.5 kilograms after 5 or 6 months, and can mate and reproduce after 8 months.

1. Sexual maturity and estrus: bamboo rats are sexually mature at the age of 7 to 8 months, and the mother rats are in estrus periodically, showing uneasy behavior, flushing and opening of the vulva, frequent urination or singing. The estrus of male rats is characterized by irritability, climbing the fence, grinding iron teeth, protruding penis, loss of appetite and chasing estrus female rats. As bamboo mice have the characteristics of stimulating ovulation, reproduction must be reproduced (2-3 days) to improve the pregnancy rate.

2. Mating method: one male and one female were mated regularly. According to the male / female ratio of 1 ∶ 4 and the selection plan, the estrus female rats were placed in the male enclosure and put back to the same place after mating. For two consecutive days, the suitable mating time is 8 ~ 10:00 and 6: 9 p.m. In summer and autumn, and 9 ~ 10:00 and 2: 4 p.m. In winter and spring.

3. Pregnancy and childbirth: the time between the last mating of the mother and the birth of the baby (usually 45 days) is the pregnancy period. Female mice are not allowed to mate after conception. 1-2 days after giving birth, the mother rat has a weak physique and poor appetite, and needs to be supplemented with more concentrate (high-quality, palatable, fresh and easy-to-digest feed). This plays a key role in the survival of young mice. Therefore, the feeding and management of mother rats should be strengthened during lactation to ensure the supply of nutrition. The offspring are breast-fed from birth to 10 days old, and there is no need for special management. To 45 days of age to weaning, individual poor growth can be a few days later. Weaned young rats can be reared separately according to sex, physique and age. There can be 10 to 15 in each column.
