Recently, some farmers wrote to ask: they want to develop the breeding of ducks, but there is no water near their homes, asking if ducks can be raised in dry conditions. The answer is yes, sesame ducks can be raised in dry conditions.

Sesame duck raised in cold and dry weather can maintain a higher environmental temperature, can avoid the energy loss caused by water bath, and can avoid the harm of parasites in the body, so as to get higher feed reward. However, the investment of duck house is relatively large when the duck is raised in dry condition.

Dry raising sesame ducks are generally divided into brooding period (0,21 days) and fattening period (22 days to fattening).

It can be raised in multiple layers during brooding. The distance between layers is 60-70 cm, and the width of each layer is about 60 cm. The length depends on the scale of raising, raising 15 ducklings per square meter. The steel wire mesh is used as the net bottom material, the load-bearing bamboo strips are installed under the bamboo strips, and the manure-bearing layer is installed under the bamboo strips (generally sewn with old feed fiber bags). Plastic trough and drinking fountain are placed on the steel wire net.

During brooding, it can also be raised on the ground, but more straw is needed as bedding material. And there should be a grid where the drinking fountain is placed so that the splashed water droplets can be leaked and exported outdoors to keep the duck house dry.

Brooding should be heated in cold days and heated by infrared lights, biogas or coal-fired stoves, but the latter two should be piped out of the air. During the rearing period, the temperature in the house should be kept at 30 ℃ at the age of 1 day, then decreased by 1 ℃ every 2 days, and de-heated at the age of 21 days or when the average temperature reached 25 ℃. In addition, in the first week, ducklings like the yard pile and should be removed every 2 hours to prevent crushing to death.

Compared with the white meat duck, the sesame duck is active and should be "pressed with fullness", that is, to ensure that there is feed and drinking water in the feed trough and drinking fountain within 24 hours, and the duck can eat and drink at will. There should be dim light at night.

During the rearing period, the feed nutrition of sesame duck is slightly lower than that of white-feathered duck, with a crude protein content of 18%, lysine content of 0.9% and methionine plus cystine content of 0.65%. If there are only white-feathered ducks on the market, with a crude protein content of 19% and 20%, you can buy chopped rice or corn mixed with 10%. A small amount of sand grains the size of rice grains (about 0.3% of the feed amount) must be added to the feed trough of ducklings, so that the stomach can grind the food.

The main infectious diseases of ducklings are viral hepatitis and infectious serositis, so the combined attenuated vaccine to prevent these two diseases should be subcutaneously injected into the neck of ducklings at the age of 1 ~ 2 days.

Ma ducks are generally raised on the ground during the dry breeding and fattening period, with 6 ducks per square meter. Due to the large amount of duck excretion at this stage, it is necessary to cover the straw twice a day in the morning and evening to ensure that the duck sleeps on the straw instead of on Gong. If there are woods or winter idle soil in front and back of the house, you can release the ducks on a sunny day, move the feed trough and drinking fountain out at the same time, and lock them in the duck house at night.

In the fattening stage of sesame duck, the content of crude protein, lysine and methionine plus cystine are 14%-15%, 0.7% and 0.6%, respectively. If there are only white-feathered ducks in the market, that is, the kind with a crude protein content of 16%, you can buy 10% corn or rice and a small amount of beaten rice bran (containing a small amount of broken rice and rice bran, the crude protein content accounts for about 3%, not bran). Provide food and water throughout the day.

Sesame ducks are generally raised for 40 to 50 days, weigh 1.8 to 2 kilograms, and are sold when their wings and feathers are basically complete. If you continue to raise, feed consumption is more, daily gain is less, feed reward will be reduced.
