First, select good breeds according to local conditions, and carry out crossbreeding and improvement of sheep breeds with large size, fast growth, high reproduction rate, strong adaptability, good meat quality and high benefits. at present, there are mainly Boer goat, Shaneng goat, Huang-Huai goat and so on. At present, most of the goats raised by farmers are mainly local breeds, with small individuals, slow growth and low fencing rate, so the benefit is not high. In order to reverse this situation, Boer goat and Saanen goat should be introduced for cross improvement. For example, when Boer goats cross with local goats, they gain nearly 10 kg more than local goats at the age of 6 months, which can significantly improve the benefit.

Second, the scale of raising sheep should be suitable for the scale of raising sheep in the family, which can be determined according to the amount of cultivated land, the size of grassland, the quantity of forage, labor force and the amount of capital invested in the family. In general, the scale of raising and breeding ewes of 15 ewes is more appropriate.

Reform the traditional feeding habits

1. Change mixed group grazing to single group grazing. Lambs should be grazed in the nearest group according to their physiological and living characteristics, extensive management should be changed into careful management, and early breeding should be strengthened to make lambs eat well, early weaning, early grazing and early feeding, so as to speed up the growth and development of lambs.

two。 Change from simple grazing to the combination of grazing and supplementary feeding. In the withered grass period in winter and spring, it is difficult for sheep to meet their nutritional needs only by grazing, so half-day grazing and half-day supplementary feeding are implemented in winter and spring, which can not only avoid the physical exertion of sheep, but also achieve the purpose of keeping fat.

3. Change from spring lambs to winter lambs. When lambs are born in winter, the growing period of lambs in the same year is as long as 10-11 months, which is very beneficial to fattening in autumn. It can not only avoid sheep losing fat in winter, but also save manpower and material resources, speed up sheep turnover and improve economic benefits.

4. Change from coarse feeding management to fine feeding management. First of all, we must do a good job of seasonal grazing. The weather is cool in autumn and the nutritional value of a hundred grasses is high, which is the golden season of grazing (1607.50, 6.30 and 0.39%). At this time, we should graze as much as possible and let sheep eat more grass. In winter, the climate is cold, graze as little as possible, and achieve the right amount of exercise to supplement high-quality hay and concentrate. The weather in spring is cold and changeable, so let sheep run less and eat more. The summer weather is hot, there are many mosquitoes and flies, grazing as much as possible in the morning and evening. Secondly, to make full use of the fine feed produced by farmers for supplementary feeding, especially lambs, pregnant ewes and breeder rams, grazing alone cannot meet their nutritional needs, so concentrate and forage should always be replenished. special attention should be paid to the supply of protein, minerals and vitamins. Third, pay attention to the supply of clean drinking water and improve environmental sanitation, clean the sheep house every day, clean the material trough, sink, to ensure that the sheep house is warm in winter and cool in summer.

Regular deworming and medicine baths

In the process of raising sheep, it is very easy to be infected with internal and external parasites, resulting in slow growth, low resistance and death in serious cases, so sheep farmers should carry out deworming and medicine bath every year according to the prevalence of parasites. The first deworming is usually carried out in spring, mostly with levamisole or Chongkexin and other nematodes, every 5-7 days. Nitrochlorophenol was used to drive nematodes once and again in autumn. Take medicine bath once a year in spring and autumn, choose sunny and warm weather, water temperature 35 ℃, bath with 0.5% / 2% trichlorfon and sulfur for 1-2 minutes.

5. Do a good job in disease prevention and treatment

For lamb dysentery, streptococcosis, brucellosis, No. 5 disease, infectious purulent stomatitis and so on, we should do a good job of vaccination and comprehensive prevention and treatment, and strictly formulate and implement reasonable immunization procedures.
