The water transfer operation of the newly arrived koi mainly has the following four main steps:

(1) Control problems and adaptation to the environment

1. Put the returned fish together with the packing bag in the isolation pool or aquarium

When koi is packaged, the fish merchant will fill the bag with pure oxygen and pack the koi in 2-or 3-layer plastic bags. After the koi gets home, don't rush to unpack the koi and put it into the fish tank. You should first remove 1 plastic bag, keep only the last layer of plastic bag, and put the bag and koi in an isolated pool for 40 minutes-1 hour. During this period, if oxygen deficiency is found in the bag, oxygen should be readded and the bag should be turned every ten minutes.

2. Salt gradually

Open the bag and pour into the pool water containing 0.3% salinity of the original packing water body 1x3. After oxygen or blowing into the air, fasten the mouth of the bag and continue to soak the bag for 10 minutes. 0.3% salt should be added to the pool water before releasing the fish. Koi can withstand water with up to 1% salt, but the adaptation of koi to osmotic regulation is phased and has a process of gradual change. Koi shows great tolerance to the slow molestation of salinity. If the koi is moved directly from fresh water to high salinity water, it will cause serious dehydration of the fish. Therefore, the increase of salinity needs to be carried out step by step. Generally, 0.3% salt is put in first, and then it is increased to 0.5% after 12 hours, and finally to 0.7% after 24 hours. The salt used in koi culture refers to crude salt, not general household salt, because the general household salt is purified and does not have any nutrients, while crude salt is untreated salt, which is rich in trace elements, which is conducive to the absorption and utilization of koi and replenish trace elements in water.

(2) disinfection of fish and administration of drugs

1. When there is no temperature difference between the water inside and outside the packing bag, the fish is fished out and put into potassium permanganate water containing 20PPM concentration for 3 minutes. The fish is directly put into the isolation pool and the water and plastic bags in the original bag are discarded at the same time.

Even koi, which look very healthy in appearance, have more or less some pathogens. The commonly used disinfectant solution is 20PPM concentration potassium permanganate solution, which is used to bathe the fish for 3 minutes. Through this disinfection method, the bacteria on the surface of the fish body and the parotid can be effectively killed, and the pathogenic bacteria can be controlled to enter the isolation pool. If obvious injuries are found in some parts during this period, special treatment should be carried out.

2. Observe for half an hour. In this process, some koi will jump because they do not adapt to the existing pool water. Generally, after 30-60 minutes, the jumping phenomenon will stop and swim smoothly.

3. After the fish is stabilized, the following drugs are added to the pond water at the same time to improve the fish's adaptability and prevent the occurrence of bacterial diseases. At this time, if there is activated carbon in the filtration system, the ultraviolet germicidal lamp should be turned off:

1) antibiotics, optional water-soluble antibiotics (such as penicillin, erythromycin, etc.) are sprinkled evenly throughout the pool, and the dose is used in accordance with the instructions.

2) the whole pool was evenly sprinkled with water-soluble vitamin C for 3 days, and the dose was used according to the instructions.

Vitamin C participates in a variety of physiological processes in koi, such as growth, development, reproduction, wound repair, stress response and so on. It is very important to maintain the normal growth of koi and enhance its resistance to stress and pathogens. Especially in improving the effectiveness of koi to environmental stress and pathogen resistance, it has been widely recognized, and has achieved good application results in practice. It is an important drug against stress reaction.

(3) continuously increase oxygen, sterilize and eliminate insects

1. Aerate and increase oxygen in the whole pool for at least 7 days. If possible, oxygen cylinders can be used to inject pure oxygen into the water. It is recommended that brocade carp operators use this method. At the same time, it is recommended to use a special air column for pure oxygen.

2. After turning water for 72 hours, observe the swimming condition of koi. If the dorsal fin has been basically opened, insecticidal treatment can be carried out. In the case of careful observation without a microscope, the spectrum of insecticidal drugs can be used for insecticidal operation, it is recommended to use insecticidal drugs such as diphtheria, and the dose is used in accordance with the instructions.

3. 24 hours after insecticidal 12Murray, water-soluble antibiotics (such as penicillin, erythromycin, etc.) were sprinkled all over the pool to prevent secondary infection of small wounds after the worm fell off. It is recommended to keep the drug concentration for 3 days.

(4) isolated culture and feeding

Healthy koi cultured in different fishing grounds carry different strains, and koi from different sources have different immunity to different strains. When the fish from the first place will have the antibody to the strain A, similarly, the fish from the second place will have the antibody to the strain B. Koi from different fishing grounds purchased at one time need to be raised separately for quarantine treatment. The new fish body will carry some germs, because it has antibodies to pathogens, so it will not get sick, even if we disinfect the body surface of brocade carp, but the bacteria carried in the newly purchased koi will make the koi already raised in your original tank or pond easy to get sick because you do not have this antibody.

Therefore, when purchasing new fish, regardless of whether the newly bought koi is sick or not, it should be kept in isolation for more than 10 days to ensure that it can only be mixed with the original koi when there is no disease. The best isolation period is 30 days. During this period, when fish disease occurs, it should be treated immediately.

The new koi need to stop eating for 3 days, and then gradually feed the koi special feed after 3 days. At this time, the feed should choose high-quality, digestible feed, at the same time, adopt the principle of eating less and more meals, gradually increase the amount of feed, after 5 days, and then reach the standard amount of feed. At this point, the main work of the whole water transfer link is basically completed. I hope that through my introduction, you can have some understanding of the water transfer process of koi, so that your love carp can grow up healthily.
