At the turn of winter and spring, the weather is cold and green fodder is scarce. therefore, in order to achieve high efficiency in winter and spring, chicken farming must do the following:

Keep warm: in winter and spring, the climate is cold and changeable, which brings a lot of inconvenience to poultry farmers, especially the effect of low temperature on laying hens is very obvious. Therefore, we can appropriately increase the feeding density, close the doors and windows, add grass curtains, stove heating and other ways to keep warm, so that the lowest temperature of the chicken house can be maintained at 3-5 ℃.

Ventilation: due to the low temperature in winter and spring, the doors and windows of the chicken house are closed strictly, and the ventilation is reduced, but the exhaust gas discharged by the chicken and the harmful gases such as ammonia, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide produced by the fermentation of chicken manure will accumulate in the chicken coop. it is easy to induce diseases such as respiratory tract of chickens. Therefore, it is necessary to deal with the relationship between ventilation and warmth in the chicken house, and remove feces and sundries in time. When the weather is good, windows should be opened for ventilation so that the air is fresh and oxygen is sufficient to prevent problems before they occur. But be careful not to let the cold wind blow directly to prevent the chicken from catching a cold.

Cooling: in winter and spring, the ventilation in the chicken house is small, the water evaporation is reduced, and the hot air in the house touches the cold roof and walls to condense into a large number of water droplets, resulting in excessive moisture in the chicken house, creating conditions for the reproduction of bacteria and parasites. Therefore, we must strengthen the management and pay attention to keep the chicken coop clean and dry.

Disinfection: disinfection should run through the whole process of feeding. When the temperature is low in winter and spring, the activity frequency of bacteria decreases, but the resistance of chicken flocks is generally weakened. if disinfection is ignored, it is easy to lead to disease outbreaks. Therefore, we must do a good job in disinfecting the chicken coop.

Supplementary photo: during the winter and spring seasons, the days are short and the nights are long, and the laying rate of layers often decreases due to lack of light. In order to overcome this natural defect, artificial supplementary light can be used. Under normal circumstances, the total light time per day should not be less than 14 hours, but not more than 17 hours, otherwise the light time is too long, it will cause physiological disorders of chickens.
