Pheasant is the most popular species in special breeding projects. According to the statistics of Zhaobao Ecological Farm in Fujian Province over the past 25 years, the number of introduced pheasant breeding customers has increased by more than 30% every year. However, although it is generally reflected that the pheasant project has the advantages of low investment, quick results and high efficiency, there are still a small number of people who cannot raise pheasants well, saying that their pheasants lay low eggs. Investigating the reasons, Zhaobao Ecological Farm specially sorted out the following five key techniques to improve pheasant egg production, specifically as follows:

I. strict control and care

Pheasants are very sensitive to light when they enter the laying period. The length of light is related to the laying physiology of hens, increasing light can stimulate pheasant sex hormone secretion to increase egg production; shorten light, inhibit sex hormone secretion, also inhibit ovulation and egg laying. Laying hens are very sensitive to light. Good laying effect can only be achieved by using correct light. Laying eggs must be punctual, punctual and regular.

Generally speaking, 15 days before the start of production, the light should be 14 hours a day, and the light should be increased gradually, increasing by 5 minutes a day until it reaches 16 hours. Raising chickens in an open chicken house is affected by changes in the length of natural sunshine. The natural light time varies from season to season and latitude to different days of the year, so it is necessary to calculate the natural light time and then add the light to 16 hours. In this way, chickens can lay eggs continuously and reach the peak of egg production as soon as possible. The use of artificial light, light intensity, switching time should be stable, can not be changed at will, otherwise it is easy to cause pheasant anus prolapse.

At present, many farmers, laying hens are completely stocked, can not replenish the light, therefore, the laying rate is low, generally no more than 30 / year.

2. Dietary protein should be kept at 21%.

According to the summary of the long-term practice in our farm, in order for pheasant to have high and stable production, the protein level in feed should reach 21%, and animal protein should account for 50%. When the laying rate of pheasant reaches more than 70%, it is necessary to reach the above level, if not, the peak time of laying eggs will be short, the weight of pheasants will drop rapidly, resulting in fewer eggs, small egg weight, less qualified breeding eggs, heavy sand skin, more abnormal eggs and so on. This requires breeders to study, observe and learn more technology. at the same time, the introduction household must choose a high-quality farm to learn the key technology, otherwise the comprehensive laying rate is 6-11 times different.

III. Reasonable construction of pheasant barn.

Whether the construction of the fence house is reasonable or not not only affects the growth and disease, but also has a great impact on its egg production. It is embodied in the following aspects:

1. The construction of the fence house is unreasonable, which is not conducive to the requirements of ventilation, dryness and constant temperature. Even the temperature difference between day and night is so great that it is difficult for animals to adjust. Resulting in stress, physical decline and so on, the incidence will be very large, egg production will also be greatly reduced.

2. The environment of the fence house is poor. Air pollution, poor ventilation, pheasants can not live quietly, often disturbed and so on.

Fourth, control the weight and the age of birth.

In order to make pheasant high yield, we must pay attention to control the weight and age of laying pheasant. According to the study of pheasant breeding in our farm for 25 years, it is found that the weight of pheasant at the beginning of production is controlled between 2.1 and 2.4 jin, high yield quality, high yield time and high yield quantity. These three indicators have the best effect. At the same time, the first laying age of pheasant was controlled at 160 days in the first half of the year and 175 days in the second half of the year. The specific measures are:

The main results are as follows: 1. The feed formula is scientific and reasonable, and different formula feed is given to different growth stages.

2. In the feed, there must be green fodder, and the proportion of green fodder must not be less than 1/3 of the total food intake of pheasants in order to control the weight of pheasants.

V. other aspects

1. The peak time of pheasant egg laying is from 9: 00 a.m. to 2: 00 p.m. During this period, all production activities should be strictly prohibited, and there must be no disturbance to the laying of pheasants in order to ensure high production. Many farmers do not know that, during this period, cleaning and catching chickens will affect the time for pheasants to lay eggs for 5-7 days, and the damage rate of eggs will reach 30-40%.

2. regular and quantitative feeding: the laying pheasant is fed with 65g daily diet and twice a day in order to ensure its high yield. Food is too often and sometimes short, nutrition collocation is not scientific, drinking water is insufficient, environmental sanitation is poor, strange group co-breeding and so on. All may cause chicken dysplasia, infection disease, overweight, too thin and so on, which naturally have an adverse effect on egg production.

3. When laying eggs, the climate is hot and the intake of pheasants decreases. Traditional Chinese medicine for clearing heat and relieving summer heat can be added to the feed to improve the laying rate. Prescription: Elsholtzia splendens 150g, magnolia 150g, Scutellaria baicalensis 150g, astragalus 180g, mint 150g, raw place 180g, licorice 80g, lentil 150g, honeysuckle 180g, dried and crushed into fine powder, added to the feed at 2%, can effectively solve the pheasant heat stress syndrome, increase the laying rate of pheasants in summer by 12-20%, and the fertilization rate by 10-15%. Fujian Zhaobao Farm has been using this prescription for 20 years, and the effect is very obvious.
