The input-output ratio and economic benefit evaluation of captive beef cattle are the most concerned issues for many farmers. Liu Erdi, a big cattle farmer, gave the author a market analysis according to last year's market situation.

The cost of raising cattle is to introduce the cost of beef calves, and it costs about 7000 yuan to buy a calf at the current market. If each calf can be raised to more than 1300 jin, the current market price of beef cattle with more than 1000 jin is 13 yuan per jin, and it is estimated that each calf can be sold for 16900 yuan.

The coarse fodder for beef cattle is silage corn straw, distiller's grains, dry corn straw, wheat straw, peanut straw, sweet potato straw and rice straw. The purchase price per jin is calculated at 0.3 yuan, and each beef cow needs 20 jin of roughage per day, that is, 6 yuan.

The fine feed needed by beef cattle every day accounts for 1% of the body weight of beef cattle, that is, 1 jin of fine feed for every 100 jin of body weight. The average value is generally used, that is, each head is calculated as 8 jin of fine material according to the weight consumption of 800 jin. The formula is made of 52% corn flour, 16% wheat bran, 25% soybean meal, 1% baking soda, 1% salt and 5% premix. The market price is equivalent to 1.4 yuan per jin, 11.2 yuan for 8 jin, and 17.2 yuan per day for each head. A beef cow needs to be raised for 10 months, 17.2 yuan per day, for 300 days, and a total feed cost of 5160 yuan.

Supporting equipment cost particle grinder, guillotine, boiler, according to the quantity to choose the size model, generally 1000-4000 yuan, cowshed construction and equipment are fixed assets, can be used for many years, the cost can be diluted in the cost. The disinfection fee is calculated at 100 yuan and the quarantine treatment fee is 250 yuan. Water and electricity costs about dozens of yuan per cow per year, which can be roughly offset by selling cow dung. To sum up, it is estimated that the cost of raising cattle is 12500 yuan, and the profit per cow is about 4300 yuan (including labor costs).
