Mountain turtle dove

Mountain turtledove is a common species in China. Medium-sized, 27cm long and 35cm long. The two wings have no metallic feather color, and the second and third feathers are the longest. The feet are short and strong, and the tarsometatarsus is longer than the middle toe. The upper body feathers are mainly brown, head and neck grayish brown, dyed with wine color. The forehead and head are gray or blue-gray, almost all over the provinces and regions of China. Moved to the plain in autumn and winter, often perched in groups with pearl-necked turtledoves. Fly like a pigeon, often glide. The song was monotonous and low. Very vigilant. Feed on sorghum, wheat seeds, rice and fruits, sometimes eat insect larvae, and often eat the seeds of camphor trees in winter. The nest is built on a tree, generally 3-7 meters above the ground, made of branches and simple in structure. Turtledoves are economically valuable hunting birds with a large number of turtledoves.

Streptopelia chinensis

Pearl neck turtledove, also known as "middle spot", "pearl neck spot", belongs to pigeon-shaped order, dove family, people are familiar with medium-sized (30 cm) pink turtledove. The hermaphrodites are of the same color, the tail is slightly longer, the white at the front of the lateral tail feather is very wide, the flying feather is darker than the body feather, and the body feather is mostly grayish brown. It is obviously characterized by black spots covered with white spots on the side of the neck. The upper back is brown and the lower back to the waist is blue-gray. The end of the tail is blue-gray and the iris is orange. The mouth is dark brown. The feet are fuchsia. The soft and sweet "goo-goo-goo" is repeated over and over again, and the last note is accentuated. It is common and widely distributed in Southeast Asia. Introduced through the Little Sunda Islands to other places as far away as Australia.

Common resident and caged birds are found in eastern China, Taiwan Province and coastal provinces, commonly found in open lowlands and villages in central, southwestern, southern and eastern China. Subspecies Tigrina is located to the west of Nujiang River in southwestern Yunnan. Vacillans is found in other parts of Yunnan and southern Sichuan. Hainana is in Hainan Island. Formosana is in Taiwan. Named subspecies are found in other areas of their distribution. The bead-necked turtledove is symbiotic with human beings, living in open sparse forests and around villages and rice fields, feeding on the ground, and likes to eat granular hard food, such as small snails, camphor kernels, grains, etc., often opposite to the open road. After being disturbed, slowly flap your wings and fly close to the ground.
