Li Lanfang and her husband Zhong Yewei, both college student village officials in Wuzhifeng Township, Shangyou County, are cutting bee candy.

On June 19, at the beekeeping farm in Gaofeng Village, Wuzhifeng Township, Shangyou County, swarms of bees buzzed incessantly, while Li Lanfang and Zhong Yewei, college student village officials, were instructing bee farmers to cut honey. Looking at clumps of sweet-smelling honey, bee farmer Zhang Zuxiong was beaming with delight. "according to this output, we will be able to make a profit this year, and beekeeping is the right way to go!"

Li Lanfang and Zhong Yewei are both colleagues and husband and wife. In 2012, both of them were admitted to university student village officials, and both were assigned to Wuzhifeng Township in Shangyou County, becoming "husband and wife stalls" among college student village officials.

Wuzhifeng Township is one of the most remote towns in Shangyou County, about 70 kilometers away from the county seat, where the scenery is beautiful, pleasant climate, like Xanadu Garden.

When they first arrived in Wuzhifeng Township, Li Lanfang and his wife were only attracted by the local beautiful natural scenery, but in their later work, they found that the local foundation was weak, the villagers had few sources of income, and the pace of getting rich was slow.

To let the villagers get rich as soon as possible has become the greatest wish of this couple of college student village officials.

In early 2014, an opportunity to study in Suichuan, a neighboring county, allowed Li Lanfang to discover the business opportunity of beekeeping. "there are a lot of people keeping bees there, because beekeeping is relatively small, the income is fast, and the technical requirements are not high, so I think it is particularly suitable for the villagers in Wuzhifeng Township." Li Lanfang said.

The couple are checking the flow of honey.

In order to reduce the investment risk of the villagers, Li Lanfang and her husband first bought six cases of bees for experiments, and traveled to and from Suichuan many times to learn beekeeping skills. The hard work lived up to the dedicated people. Over the course of a year, they gained nearly 3000 yuan.

The couple, who had their first taste of "sweetness", began to take the initiative to introduce their beekeeping experience to the villagers and encourage them to keep bees together.

Under their leadership, in 2015, more than 30 farmers in Huangzhutou and Fengfeng villages of Wuzhifeng Township joined the beekeeping team, producing more than 3000 jin of honey. Bee farmers can't hide the joy of a bumper harvest, but new concerns follow: where is the market for this honey?

"the traffic here is inconvenient, the information is blocked, and it is difficult to open the market by relying only on relatives and friends." Li Lanfang thought that if it was sold on the Internet, there would be more sales space. As a result, the couple signed up for Taobao and WeChat shops to help villagers sell honey.

"at first, most of the customers who entered the store were just asking questions, and very few people bought it. Because of online sales, many customers are worried about the quality of honey. " In order to allay customers' doubts, they cut sugar on the spot, invited customers to visit, and uploaded the honey production process to the online store by video, which gradually won the trust of customers, and more and more repeat customers.

The couple packed the honey in cans and delivered it by express delivery.

Now, while they sell honey online, they also put the villagers' dried bamboo shoots, stone fish and other local products into the store for sale.

In order to lead more people to get rich, in March this year, the couple also registered and established a professional cooperative for beekeeping in Bijiashan, Wuzhifeng, attracting more than 50 farmers to participate in beekeeping in the way of "cooperatives and farmers." it is estimated that the annual profit will exceed 400000 yuan.

"I didn't expect that the young couple were so intelligent that they led the villagers to raise their income in a year or two." Watching the couple's "sweet" career become more and more prosperous, Lai Guangfu, a villager in his sixties, gave a thumbs up.
