Pigsty Design of Xiang Pig

Xiang pig's pig house should choose dry, leeward to the sun, flat place to build pig house, in the form of single-row or double-row type, but must use masonry walls, cement plastering, in order to wash and clean. The requirement of pigsty is higher, and the playground should be larger. Each little Xiang pig should cover an area of 0.8m 2, and it is suitable for each pig to be kept in captivity. A faecal yard shall be set up outside the pig house, with an excrement yard of 1.5 meters per pig.

Feeding and Management of Xiang Pig

1. After the birth of the little Xiang pig, it is necessary to fix the nipple of the sow, let the piglet eat good colostrum, and strengthen the heat preservation, so that it can start eating early, which can be fed with fine feed 4 days after birth. The weaned piglets should be fed with compound feed, which is composed of 10% corn, 50% rice bran, 8%-10% bean cake, 30% wheat bran, 1% flour, 0.5% salt, 10.5 trillion coke of digestible energy and 16.2% crude protein per kilogram of feed.

2. Xiang pigs are mainly stocked, and they often eat green fodder such as weeds and fragrant rice, so that suckling pork has a special flavor. At the same time, concentrate should be replenished. The average daily consumption of concentrate feed and green feed per reserve sow (2-4 months old) was 0.2 kg and 1 kg respectively. Pregnant and lactating sows consume an average of 04kg of concentrate feed and 2kg of green feed per day.

3. Xiang pigs have early sexual maturity, tolerance to inbreeding and stable heredity. The boar weighed 8kg at the age of 2 months, and crawling behavior occurred at the age of 2 months, and breeding was carried out at the age of 3 months. Sows are in estrus at the age of 3 months and can be mated at the age of 4 months with an average of 7-10 litters per litter. The ratio of male to female is 1: (8-10).

4. Xiang pig has the characteristics of rapid growth and fat on the side in the early stage, with a birth weight of 0.3-0.5 kg. The average weight of each pig weaned at 60 days is about 5 kg, and the weight of adult pig is only 1538 kg. Generally raising suckling pigs of 5-7 weeks of age is the most suitable for slaughtering.

5. The cold resistance of Xiang pig is lower than that of local pig breeds, and the heat preservation is not good, which not only affects the normal growth, but also causes loss. The walls of the pigsty should be one-and-a-half bricks or one blank in thickness, tight and crack-free. More firewood and grass are piled around the wall book as insulation. The piggery should use plastic film to buckle the shed, preferably with two layers of plastic film. The shed was covered with grass curtains at night. There should be ventilation holes in the shed, which should be passed 1-2 times before and after noon every day. Half an hour at a time is fine.
