Meat dog breeding in China started in 1956, and the great development was in the 1980s and 1990s. Dog meat food was loved by the broad masses as a delicacy. Although the prospect of large-scale feeding of meat dogs is good, a little carelessness will also cause economic losses. Let's take a look at the common misunderstandings of meat dog breeding.

Dogs of mixed breeds and sizes

As soon as some rural professional households heard that raising dogs made more money than raising pigs, they went from village to village to buy puppies and began to raise them using an old house. they did not pay attention to the dog's age and individual size, and locked them together after buying them back, and soon there were big bites, strong bullies and weak ones. As a result, the dog was injured, died and lost money. Therefore, when choosing puppies, it should be noted that the difference in birth age is generally no more than 15 days, and the coat color is basically the same. special attention should be paid not to buying unweaned puppies.

Single feed and lack of nutrition

Dogs are omnivorous animals, feed nutrition should contain protein, fat, carbohydrates, cellulose and so on, but also need rich minerals and various vitamins. In the case of lack of meat dog feed in the market, professional dog owners should prepare nutritious and palatable feed according to the different growth stages of the dog, and must not feed a certain feed alone.

Indiscriminate use of drugs, random hypnosis

After entering the fattening period, meat dogs can make rational use of hypnotic anesthetics to make them sleep after eating, in order to gain weight, but hypnotic anesthetics should not be used in puppy period and adolescence, and their growth depends on feed conversion. Some professional households even do not hesitate to pay a lot of money to mail-order hypnotic anesthetics, which often lead to dogs refusing to eat or poisoning to death after eating due to improper dosage and incorrect use method.

Lack of exercise and poor meat quality

Most professional dog owners use existing houses or fences to keep meat dogs in captivity, and when dogs grow to 10-15 kilograms, they are eager to put in more fatty feed to fatten them, because dogs exercise less and have a lot of subcutaneous fat after slaughtering. it's hard to sell because it doesn't taste like dog meat. Therefore, raising meat dogs must be more exercise, and appropriate restrictions on feeding, especially less fatty feed, in order to increase lean meat and improve the quality of dog meat.
