Stone money turtles are known as yellow-throated water turtles, also known as stone turtles, water turtles, yellow board turtles, yellow turtles, fragrant turtles and so on. Artificially cultivated stone money turtles have the characteristics of small land area, convenient feeding and management, high economic benefits and so on. It can be developed into an emerging industry to adjust and optimize the rural industrial structure and increase people's income. Let's take a look at the technical video of stone money turtles.

The living habits of stone money tortoise

1. Environment: stone money turtles inhabit the waters of hilly areas, intermountain basins and river valleys, and sometimes move in shrubs and rice fields. During the day, he likes to spend more time on land, sometimes climbing on the shore to bask in the sun, commonly known as "basking in the shell". When the weather is hot, there are more activities in the morning and evening, and he often hides in the water, dark places or buried in the sand at noon and night. The stone money tortoise is afraid of alarm. Once it encounters an enemy or a noise, it immediately dives into the water or retreats its head.

2. Temperature: the stone money turtle has a large amount of activity from the end of April to the beginning of October every year, and the optimum environmental temperature is 1832 ℃. 315 ℃ is the transition stage of turtle from active state to hibernating state. About 10 ℃ tortoise goes into hibernation. Inadaptable or dormant at 35-36 ℃. In the first ten days of March, the temperature was about 15 ℃. Although the tortoise woke up, it only crawled and did not look for food. The turtles don't eat until the end of March to the beginning of April. After hibernation, the turtles lose about 50 grams and 100 grams.

3. Eating habits: stone money turtles are omnivorous and eat a wide range of food. According to records: in the wild, stone money turtles eat insects, arthropods, annelids, Loach, field snails, fish, shrimp, plant foods such as wheat, rice, weeds and so on. Under the condition of artificial feeding, poultry viscera, pork and viscera, mixed feed can be fed. Plants can be fed with melons, fruits and vegetables. Stone money turtles like to look for food in the water. When feeding, they first climb close to the food, stare at it, then suddenly stretch their necks, bite the food and swallow it. If the food is too large, tear it up with the help of two front claws before swallowing it.

Breeding characteristics of stone money tortoise

1. Male and female identification: the male individual weighs 250 grams and is sexually mature. The dorsal nail is longer, the ventral nail is sunken, the larger the body is, the more obvious the depression is, the tail is longer, and the female weighs 300 grams and is sexually mature. The back nail is wide and short, the abdominal nail is flat, and the tail is short.

2. Breeding habits: in nature, the mating period between yellow throat and tortoise is from April to the end of October, and the mating time is mostly at night or early morning. The male turtle appears very excited before mating, often following the female tortoise and hitting the female turtle on the shoulder with its head. When the female turtle is not moving, the male turtle climbs onto the female tortoise's back, the front paw hooks the front edge of the female turtle's dorsal armor, and the tail protrudes the copulator to mate. The spawning period of turtles is from May to 19 months, July is the peak, and the spawning time is mostly at night. Before spawning, turtles use their hind legs to dig caves alternately. The cave mouth is large and the bottom is small. Generally, the hole is 40 centimeters in diameter and 80 millimeters deep. Then aim the tail at the cave, the hind legs stick out, and the soles of the feet open to catch the eggs. After the eggs are laid, they pluck the soil with their hind legs to fill up the hole. The stone money turtle lays 1-5 eggs each time, and the eggs are white and long oval. The egg has a long diameter of 40 mm and a short diameter of 21.5 mm. The egg weighs 11.9 grams.

Culture techniques of stone money tortoise

1. Site selection: tortoise breeding sites should choose places with sufficient water sources, good water quality, good soil water retention (such as clay loam or loam), convenient drainage and irrigation, quiet environment, leeward to the sun, avoid raising turtles in places with great external influence, such as transportation lines and factories. Different turtle ponds should be built for turtles at different stages.

2, the choice of young turtles: young turtles had better be purchased from the breeding place, because the turtles domesticated by farmers have adapted to the artificial breeding environment and have a high survival rate. If purchased from the market, it is appropriate to check the physical condition of the tortoise and whether there is a hook in the mouth one by one from May to August. Generally speaking, a healthy baby turtle should have three conditions: a quick ①, bright eyes, full and flexible limbs, and the ability to prop itself up and walk instead of dragging its belly armour. There was no trauma and ulceration on the body surface of ②. ③ puts the tortoise into the deep sea and the tortoise can sink.

3. Stocking of young turtles: before entering the pond, the young turtles should be soaked and disinfected with 2 mg / L potassium permanganate solution. The stocking density is 5 × 8 / m3, and the suitable ratio of female to male is 3 ∶ 1 or 3 ∶ 2.

4. Daily management

① bait: stone money tortoise is omnivorous and eats a wide range of food. Under the condition of artificial feeding, it can be fed to the meat of small fish, poultry offal and other animals, or mixed feed, but it takes a period of adaptation. The fresh bait and mixed feed should be mixed together for the first time, kneaded into a ball, placed on the edge of the water, and fed several times in a row. After most turtles adapt, they can be fed with mixed feed directly. Stone money turtles look for food in the water, so the amount of food should be put on the waterside table so that the turtles have no leftover food, which is usually 5% of the tortoise's body weight. The feeding time varies with the season. The feeding time should be around noon in April, May and October, and 8 ~ 9 a.m. or 6 p.m., from June to September. July is the peak spawning season for turtles, so the amount of feeding should be increased.

① water quality: small area breeding ponds change water every week, large area ponds should discharge part of the old water every 2-3 days, add new water, and sprinkle alternately with 20 mg / L furazolidone or 10 mg / L lime water every week.

③ daily: diligent inspection and record should be done in daily management. Inspection can be conducted to understand the active growth and eating of turtles. Once in the morning and evening, the health conditions of 2 turtles were randomly checked, and the air temperature, water temperature, activity, illness, eating and so on were recorded.
