Shao Yongzhan is in the field to check the grapes that are about to be on the market.

"God closes a door and opens a window for you." Shao Yongtan, 36, was once a freedom-loving musician when his dream of music was interrupted by a sudden car accident. Having experienced the pain of disfigurement and loss of voice, Shao Yongtan was reborn after breaking the cocoon and found a new direction in life. The vineyard he built has become a demonstration base for rural youth entrepreneurship in Sihui City.

A car accident changed life.

On a sultry afternoon on June 21, Mr. Shao sat in his vineyard, talking and laughing with his friends. From time to time, his son ran up to him and shouted, "Dad, play with me." Shao Yongzhan always gently persuaded him to go away. Looking at the more than 130 acres of grape fields in front of him, Shao Yongtan believes that the current life is "not a success, but it is also quite happy." His biggest worry now is that the launch of grapes will be delayed this year because there are too many Rain Water. Fortunately, there is no heavy rain expected in the coming week, and the vineyard will have a picking peak in July.

Shao Yongzhan, originally from Binheng Town, Guangning County, began to leave home at the age of 21, tried to be a bar DJ, pesticide salesman, etc., and finally took a fancy to the good prospects of the grape industry and built a vineyard in Sihui. He described himself as "young, frivolous and unrestrained" when he was young, so he became a DJ in a bar when he was away from home, and sometimes sang songs on stage, dreaming of a career in the music industry.

"in the past, my voice was not as hoarse as I am now, and my appearance is very different from what I am now." 'it was all because of a car accident that changed everything, 'Mr. Shao said. In 2002, he accidentally collided with a friend on a motorcycle. Coincidentally, the accident happened in front of the hospital, and everyone was treated in time and was not life-threatening, but Shao Yong-sun left more serious sequelae. "at that time, my face was covered with blood, my teeth were broken and my voice was affected. After numerous operations, my right eye changed from double eyelids to single eyelids, and dentures were installed at the broken teeth, but the sound was not as good as before, and now I still can't speak clearly. " Mr Shao downplayed these experiences, but surprised others.

Shao Yongzhan said that the bar industry attaches more importance to appearance, especially the positions of DJ and singer, which are more demanding and perfect. After the accident, when he returned to the bar, he could only work as a chandelier, sound engineer and other innocuous jobs. He was unhappy and locked himself in his room for a month, thinking about the direction of life.

"even if I'm not disfigured, I can't stay in a bar for long, because it's always a teenager." Finally, Mr Shao figured it out and embarked on the "road to gold mining" again.

Start from scratch with 15 yuan

"being poor and thinking about change" is the main reason for Shao Yongzhan to get out of the haze. Shao Yongzhan is the youngest of five brothers and sisters, and his father has taken care of everything for him since he was a child. His father asked him to work in an office and run the factory with his elder brother, but he didn't stay any longer. At odds with his family, he took 15 yuan and entered a pesticide and fertilizer factory as a salesman.

"I still remember wearing that suit for a week when I went out." Speaking of the hardships of that year, Shao Yongzhan, who is now the owner of the manor, is not taboo. In the early years, sugar orange was the pillar industry of agriculture in Sihui City, which led to the development of pesticide and chemical fertilizer industry. Shao Yongzhan made many old friends during his work. These good friends lent him money to set up a pesticide wholesale company, and he started his own business.

"but the good times did not last long, the sugar orange was hit by Huanglong disease, and the whole industry was facing a crisis." Mr Shao's pesticide wholesale company has also been implicated by customers' arrears of payments.

By chance, Shao Yong-sun attended a seminar of pesticide non-governmental organizations and learned that the planting efficiency of grapes was high, unlike the fact that citrus was "wiped out" after the disease, and had low requirements for soil and weather. "this may lead Sihui agriculture out of the new world." Shao Yongzhan was moved by the experts' words.

Although Shao Yongzhan was born in the countryside, he knew nothing about planting because he was the key protection object of his family since he was a child. "I just saw other people grow this variety of 'beauty finger' before. I thought the fruit was red and beautiful, and it was very sweet, so I planted it." In 2009, Shao Yongzhan rented 13 mu of land in Xiameng Town, Sihui City, and began his manor life.

Insist that each bunch of grapes is pollution-free.

Growing grapes is not as simple as imagined. when he first planted the first batch of crops, Shao Yongzhan adopted a simple and primitive extensive management method, resulting in grape necrosis and a loss of more than 200,000 yuan.

"if I had swung my hands before, I would have taken the next step." After years of training, Shao Yongzhan has become much more mature and calm. He is not in a hurry to plough land, but drives a car from Sihui to visit well-known vineyards in Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Zhejiang, Shaanxi and other places to learn from other people's management experience and improve his planting skills.

During this period, he found that soil, fertilizer, pruning, scaffolding and other links were crucial in the process of growing grapes, and he understood the reasons for his failure. "there are more Rain Water in Guangdong, and the acidity in the water is higher, which inhibits the growth of grapes and leads to plant death." Shao Yongzhan set up a V-shaped frame in the grape field to protect it from rain while ensuring daylighting and ventilation.

At the same time, instead of growing grapes for planting, Mr Shao began to think about increasing the added value of the industry. "it was only after growing grapes that I realized the importance of food safety, so conscience planting has always been the core value of our estate."

Mr. Shao said he moved the vineyard to Shikeng Village, the leading village committee of Dengcun Town, Sihui City (now Zhenshan Street, Sihui City).

Not only rely on Dengcun Town

The title of "the first folk papermaking village in China" is also because it is one of the places with zero industrial pollution in Sihui City. "the inherent advantages of water, soil and air environment, coupled with our use of pure farm fertilizer, ensure the pollution-free growth of grapes." When Shao Yongzhan led the reporter into the garden, the reporter saw a banner hanging on the scaffolding saying "insist that every bunch of grapes grow without pollution."

In addition, Shao Yong Stanley also tried to grow Taiwan's green jujube, figs, okra, Luoshenhua and other crops in order to build the manor into an agricultural tourism base integrating fruit picking, diet, leisure and entertainment. to provide people with a place to escape from the hustle and bustle and enjoy peace.

"Company + Farmer" plays an exemplary role

From more than 10 mu to more than 100 mu, and from a rural boy to a manor owner, Shao Yongzhan has become one of the leaders of the grape industry in Sihui City. In 2013, under the guidance of the agricultural department of Sihui City and the Communist Youth League Municipal Committee, the Xinrui Professional planting Cooperative of Sihui City was established at Xinyuan Vineyard, and a "demonstration Base for Rural Youth Entrepreneurship in Sihui City" was established to attract young people with planting skills and migrant workers returning home to join the local team of "agriculture, rural areas and farmers". Shao Yongzhan is the head of the base.

At present, Xinyuan vineyard has 12 varieties of grapes, such as Yellow Rose, Hutai No. 8, Giant Rose, Red Rose, Yongyou, Summer Black, brilliant, Golden finger, Beauty finger and so on. "I hope that through my trial planting, I can take the lead in exploring the way for other farmers who are interested in grape cultivation, so that they can avoid detours," Shao said. " He believes that varieties such as Hutai 8, Xia Hei and Victoria can achieve high yield in the process of rough management. Under the zero-pollution and pollution-free planting mode, the yield of his manor can reach more than 800 kg per mu.
