Stone frogs are amphibious frogs of the family Anura, also known as clams, pheasants, pheasants, stone frogs, flying fish, stone scales, stone toads, stone shrimp toads, stone pit frogs, stone chaos and so on. The growth process mainly goes through four stages: fertilized eggs, tadpoles, young frogs and adult frogs. Let's take a look at the growth process of stone frogs.

Fertilized egg

Stone frog eggs are often laid in gentle and shallow water, attached to stones and aquatic plants, and the glial membrane outside the eggs expands and thickens with water, with strong stickiness, connecting into cords or clusters of grapes, sometimes as long as 20 centimeters, and the diameter of the eggs is generally 4 millimeters. up to 5 millimeters, according to the water temperature, frog eggs usually hatch into tadpoles after 8 days.

Tadpole

Stone frog tadpole stage, long body, thick tail, dark yellow complexion, and distribution of black star dots, black "V" pattern at the junction of body and tail, strong adsorption capacity of kiss process, no lung, breathing with gills, like living in the big stone in the brook pit or in the gravel pile, in a suitable environment, after 50 days of growth, metamorphosis into a young frog.

Young frog

The young frog is similar to the adult frog in appearance. In the early stage of the young frog, it still has a tadpole tail. With the growth and development of the young frog, the tail will disappear. The food is mainly mosquitoes, small insects and insect larvae.

Adult frog

Adult stone frogs generally have a body length of 10-13 cm, weigh more than 150-250 grams, and can reach more than 500 grams. The skin is rough, the skin on the back is dark gray, and there is a lot of oil on it. The head of the stone frog is wide and flat, the snout is round, protruding from the lower jaw, the distance between the nostrils is almost equal to the distance between the eyes, the male of the same age is larger than the female, and the forelegs of the sexually mature male frog are extremely sturdy. There are thorns in the chest, yellowish abdomen, no thorns in the female chest, smooth and white abdomen.
