Teaching trough feed is not only the feed product of suckling pig, but also a special feed product with high nutrition from birth to 4 weeks old, also called artificial milk, opening material and so on. Suckling pig trough feed is the first feed in pig life.

The function of teaching material

1. Shortening the weaning time of suckling pigs from 45-60 days to 21-28 days. In traditional weaning, the use of teaching materials can overcome the problem of weaning weight loss of suckling pigs due to lack of breast milk. But nowadays, with the rapid development of breeding, breeding and feed technology, many breeds are often weaned at the age of 3-4 weeks. At this time, the use of trough feed can not only improve the weaning weight of suckling pigs, but also avoid weaning stress and create a stable growth environment.

2. Improve the reproductive efficiency of sows because the lactation period of suckling pigs is shortened, basic sows can shorten the reproductive interval, which can be increased from two births a year to six births in two years.

3. Increase the growth rate and reduce the hurdle time.

4. Reduce the chance of disease infection

5. Improve the utilization rate and labor productivity of pig raising facilities.

The types of trough materials for suckling pigs

The main types of teaching materials used in suckling pig production are granule, crushing, powder and liquid. In the actual production, the first three are the most widely used, and only a few large pig farms use liquid teaching materials.

The advantages of teaching trough material for suckling pigs

Shorten the lactation period of suckling pigs, reduce the weaning time from 45-50 days to 21-28 days, increase the reproductive efficiency of sows from less than 2 to 2.4-2.6 per year, and increase the growth rate of suckling pigs (especially 7 days after weaning). Reduce weaning stress; reduce the contact time between suckling pigs and sows and the chance of disease infection; improve the utilization rate of pig facilities and labor productivity.

How to feed the teaching trough material

1. Time. The time of using teaching trough material was about IO from birth 7 to 14 body weight after weaning; from 7 to 14 postpartum, a small amount of food was fed every day, and 4-5 times a day before weaning. Through these two stages to ensure the success of piglets' teaching trough, 10-14D gradually transferred to conservation feed after weaning.

2. Methods

The use of teaching trough material mainly adopts the following two methods: free feeding and step-by-step feeding. Free feeding is to add a sufficient amount of feed regularly, and remove the residual contaminated feed in time each time.

Separate feeding is 4-6 meals a day, so that you can feed less and add frequently. When feeding the teaching trough material in the early stage, you can feed a few pellets when injecting a health care needle or epidemic prevention needle; paste it on the nipple of the sow, so that the piglets will eat it when they are breast-feeding; fill the piglets in a paste according to the proportion of water at 4:1; first give the piglets a little granule, then stop for a while before breast-feeding. Pig farms to choose appropriate ways and methods according to personal management conditions, must be done from less to more, gradually increase the dosage, live during the replenishment period to provide adequate clean drinking water. In the actual production, liquid feeding is better than wet mixing, and wet mixing feeding is better than granular feeding.

Matters needing attention

Bag feed should be fastened in time after opening and taking materials, and the shelf life is generally 45-60 days to prevent deterioration due to moisture absorption. Maintain the material trough and environmental hygiene to prevent feed pollution. When feeding, make sure that piglets can drink clean water. Feed less and add more frequently, and gradually overfeed. Pay attention to keep the piglets warm.
