A particularly interesting question has been raised: is there less and less soil in the basin? Eaten by succulent plants? The reason is actually...

"I use sand with particles to grow succulent plants, because of dew cultivation, there are more particles. The sand is just to let succulent plants quickly grow new roots and firmly grasp the soil, but after a period of time, I poured out the succulent plants and found that they were all granules. The sand is gone"?

"I used to plant a magnolia in a landscaping basin, but it grew bigger and bigger at the back, and it hung down completely to one side, so I wanted to change it into a big pot. So after digging it out, I found that its root system grew all over the basin. I wanted to get rid of all the soil on the root, and when I put it back into the original basin, I found that the basin soil was suddenly much less. Is it that the root system 'eats' soil?

This is a very interesting question. Many meat friends have asked why there is less and less soil in the succulent flowerpot. There are three reasons, the third of which is the most common.

1. The medium we use to grow succulent plants is relatively light, and it is easy to be blown away by the wind if it is very dry under dew conditions, especially a light medium such as perlite. It is recommended to choose some heavier paving stones for succulent plants, such as Maifan stone or river sand.

2. When we water the succulent plants, because of the large hole in the bottom of the flowerpot, a small part of the soil will be lost with the current. This situation is more common in the early days of planting, when the plant roots have not yet fixed the soil, especially the meat planted in the granular soil garden soil, the solution is to put pebbles or insect control nets on the holes at the bottom of the flowerpot.

3. Light materials such as perlite, coconut bran and peat will be "empty and fat" when they are drier. With watering, the two are better mixed together, giving people the impression that the soil is getting less. Solution: it is recommended to plant succulent succulent plants in dry soil and hold it slightly with your hands when mixing the soil, but don't press it too tightly.

In addition, there is another saying that succulent plants absorb nutrients in the soil, resulting in less soil. In fact, the possibility of succulent succulent absorbing nutrients leading to soil reduction is almost negligible.
