The barn should be kept dry and hygienic, often clean feces and mat firewood or dry soil. Minimize outdoor activities in cold and windy weather and choose a place where the wind is facing the sun if necessary. If there are conditions, advocate to take necessary heating measures.

1. Superficial frostbite of dairy cows (skin frozen)

Do not immediately rely on fire baking or soaking in hot water, you can use liquor, pepper wipe, several times a day, or with camphor alcohol, boric acid alcohol massage the skin. If frostbite occurs in the hoof, chili, eggplant stalk and dried ginger can be boiled 10 times. When the water temperature drops to 45 ℃, soak the cow's frostbitten leg and hoof in a bucket for more than 10 minutes each time, twice a day. If there are blisters on the frostbitten site, use a disinfection needle to drain the blister fluid, apply it locally with 30% boric acid, and apply it with 10% sulfonated fish grease once a day after drying. When there is an ulcer, smear it with Vaseline or lard and wrap it with gauze. When the frostbite part is swollen, you can apply 1% iodine solution or camphor ointment, iodine glycerin and so on.

Soak the injured limb in an iron bucket with warm water and heat it to 38 ℃ ~ 42 ℃ in 5-10 minutes. Raise the frozen part slightly to reduce the edema. Use antibiotics to prevent infection when frostbite is severe and deep. When frostbite is serious, procaine can be used to seal the necrotic tissue and heal the wound as soon as possible. When frostbite secondary infection, remove the necrotic tissue, disinfect and treat the wound.
