As the temperature is generally low in winter, the efficient breeding of dairy cows should start from several aspects, such as feed standard, anti-freezing and warmth, exercise, light and drinking warm water.

Feed standard

Although dairy cows can maintain normal body temperature under the condition of low temperature, the feed consumption increases because of too much body heat. From the beginning of winter, it is necessary to gradually increase the amount of concentrate feed. The diet has good palatability, variety, reasonable collocation and rich nutrition. At the same time, a sufficient amount of high-quality hay and a certain amount of succulent feed such as lees, carrots and sweet potatoes should be fed. If you have silage, you can give priority to this, and the amount of silage will increase gradually from less to about 15 kilograms a day. In addition, the number of feeding should be increased appropriately. Increasing feed intake of dairy cows is an effective measure to increase milk yield of dairy cows.

Anti-freezing and keeping warm

Although the cold resistance of dairy cows is strong, we should also pay attention to the work of preventing cold and keeping warm. The temperature of the barn should be kept above 6 ℃ for adult cows and 5 ℃ for mature cows. When it is cold, bedding plates or mattresses should be placed on the cow bed, especially under the breasts, so as not to affect milk production or breast inflammation. The cowshed should pay attention to heat preservation to prevent the wind of thieves.

Exercise and light

The barn is relatively cold and humid in winter, where cows are tied up for a long time and are prone to diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. Therefore, at noon every day, cows should be allowed to exercise outside the house so that they can get 2-3 hours of sunbathing to speed up their metabolism and enhance their ability to keep out the cold.

Drink warm water

The milk yield of dairy cows is closely related to the temperature of drinking water. Cows drink 10 ℃ of water, 24. 5kg of water per day, 24. 6kg of water of 24 ℃, and 24. 8kg of water of 17 ℃. It can be seen that drinking 17 ℃ of water has the highest milk yield.

In addition to the above aspects, there are several aspects to ensure the efficient breeding of dairy cows in winter, such as adding bionic agents and strengthening fetal protection, which will not be explained here.
